Q: What made you start writing?
A: I started writing as a kid and had notebooks and notebooks filled with stories until it became the family joke. I put it aside, became a teacher, and haven't written anything for a long time. That is, until last year. My husband was stationed in Iraq and I required A LOT of distractions. Since my regular TV shows weren't doing it for me, and I didn't have a new book series to sink my teeth into, I decided to create something of my own to look forward to.
Q: Tell us what the first story you ever wrote was about.
A: The first story I ever wrote was a knock off of a sweet valley high book with some of the breakfast club thrown in. It was uninspired and badly written...I loved it.
Q: What is your inspiration for writing?
A: My inspiration for writing is to fill my need for more. I love having a good TV series or book series to look forward to. When I needed one and didn't have one, I created one.
Q: what story of yours do you like the most?
A: I only have one story, but it's a four parter. So I'd have to say that I like my second book, The Redemption the most. But you're always kind of partial to your first ;)
Q: Who is your favourite fictional character?
A: Favorite fictional character? This is a hard one. I'm picking on the basis that this was the FIRST fictional character I feel in love with. Leslie from "Bridge to Terabithia." It was the first book that made me cry and I remembering admiring Leslie's independent spirit. It's simple, I wanted to be like her.
Q: Favourite book series?
A: I loved the hunger games, who didn't? I also am a fan of the Outlander series.
Q: Do you have any 'habits' or 'traditions' when you're writing?
A: I write in the garage, on my iPad, listening to music. It's the only quiet place in the house.
Q: What genre do you dislike the most, and why?
A: I suppose I enjoy the non teen fiction genre the most, but I never put anything down as long as it holds my interest.
Q: If you could swap lives for a day with any person in the world, living or dead, famous or not famous, who would it be?
A: Is it wrong to say that I'm pretty happy with where I am and who I am.
Q: What is your opinion on oreos?
A: Oreos...always twist and then eat separately.
Q: If you were an animal, what animal would you be and why?
A: I'd be a dolphin. They seem to live a pretty chilled life, they swim all day long, people are generally excited to see them, they communicate, and are pretty darn smart.
Q: Anything else you want to say?
A: I've been really shy about my writing. I've had the opportunity to hand my work over to a literary agent, but haven't had the balls. Wattpad really has helped with my confidence. It's helped me develop relationships with other writers and offered a forum to share ideas and encouragement. It's been a productive month.
