It was half past seven when my alarm went off. All classes began at nine o'clock so I had time. I got up and took a shower before I got dressed and made myself prepared for the day's classes. The house was empty so I put on music and while I ate a bowl of cereal I danced around the living room. When it was around eight thirty, I took my bag and left the house. I was walking down the driveway when I suddenly stopped in shock. There stood Jc, leaning against his car and smirked. I had completely forgotten what he had said, unconsciously, I had probably blocked it out.

"By the look on your face it seems like you forgot that I was going to pick you up." He said and came towards me. I was paralyzed and couldn´t utter a word.

"Come now, I´ll drive you to school." He said and stood only a few inches away from me, he grinned.

"Eh, okay. Hey, how do you know where I live? "I asked surprised. He put his hand on my back to move me toward the car, without answering my question. He opened the door for me and I stepped in hesitantly. I was not the type who got a lift from guys, I didn´t even hang out with guys. I felt my cheeks become hot when he got into the car. I didn´t even know why I got in the car with him, it was not like me. But there was something about him, something I could not describe.

"What do you say, should we skip school today and take off somewhere?" He asked and started driving.

"Eh, I don´t know." I answered nervously.

"Yeah I think so, if you dare."

"Okay then. Go wherever you want." I said and admitted to myself that it was exciting to do something we shouldn´t, I shouldn´t. We started talking and I began to relax. I could understand why so many girls liked him. He was irresistible, he had a good sense of humor and extremely good looking. I didn´t know where we were going but he just kept driving.

"So Alison, I'm guessing that you don´t have a boyfriend." Jc said and grinned.

"Why couldn´t I have a boyfriend?” I asked feeling offended.

"Then you wouldn´t have gone with me, and haven´t you heard the rumors about me?" He put his hand on my thigh and I panicked. He just laughed.

"Don´t worry babe, I'm kidding with you. I know you don´t have boyfriend, I would have noticed."

"Haha, how would you have noticed?"

"You would have removed my hand from your thigh, then I´ve seen you in school, and I've never seen you with a boyfriend." I stared at him.

"What do you mean, have you watched me in school, have you? Don´t you have a bunch of other girls to stare at? I see you changing “girlfriend” every week." I said sarcastically. He removed his hand from my thigh and held a hard grip on the steering wheel.

"I'm sorry." I murmured. His face softened up.

"We're almost there." He said as he turned on the radio. I picked up my phone from my jacket pocket and saw that I received three text messages. All three were from my best friend Alice.

"Are you sick?"

"Hey, where are you? The class has already begun!"

"Seriously Ali, where are you?"

I quickly replied that I was sick so she wouldn´t worry. I didn´t tell her where I really was though. However, she wouldn´t even believe me so. I was the girl who just was there, didn´t take much space really. And while all of my friends got boyfriends, I stayed single.
