Here are some words that I learned from my せんせい (sensei).
え (e) - picture
いしゃ (isha) - doctor
き (ki) - tree
つくえ - desk
は (ha) - tooth
ともだち (tomodachi) - friend
ず (zu) - chart
かんぺき (kanpeki but pronounced as kampeki) - perfect
あい (ai) - love
ぜんぶ (zenbu but pronounced as zembu) - all
うみ (umi) - sea
かん (kan but pronounced as kang) - can
くつ (kutsu) - shoes
じゃんけん (janken but pronounced as jangken) - games
ふく (fuku) - clothes
あんない (annai) - guide
ひゃく (hyaku) - 100
れない (renai) - romance
きゃく (kyaku) - guest
せっけん (sekken) - soap
いっぱい (ippai) - plenty
ゆうき (yuuki) - courage
きって (kitte) - stamp
ゆき (yuki) - snow
けいや (heiya) - plain
へや (heya) - room
こし (koshi) - hip
こうし (koushi) - lecturer
がっこう (gakkou) - school
べんきょう (benkyou but pronounced as bengkyou) - study
ぎゅうんゆう (gyuunyuu) - milk
さんみゃく (sanmyaku but pronounced as samyaku) - mountain rangeTake note. If there are doubke letters in a word (eg. annai), prolong the sound of the doubled letter. Always remember that in Japan, e and i & o and u are the same. If you see words that there are "ei" or "ou" in a word (eg. koushi, heiya), prolong the sound of the first vowel on the "ei" / "ou". Since e is first than i, you need to prolong the sound of e. Since o.is first that u, you need to prolong the sound of o.
One last thing, if you see a "masu", you dont read it as masu. You read it as mas.
