I nervously sat with Hades as we waited for the news. We both snapped our heads up as the door opened.
I relaxed when I saw a wide smile on her face.
"The babies are fine." She assured.
I sighed in relief before freezing, "B-babies? I'm having twins?"
"Nope, you're having triplets."
I gasped at her, triplets. I'm having three babies at once. I swallowed, my heart beat quickly as my nerves got stronger.
Hades nodded, "Thank you."
The doctor grinned and nodded, "You're going to need more check-ups. So, twice a month."
I thanked her as she walked out before slowly turning towards Hades.
He swallowed, evident fear in his eyes.
"Before you kill me...I don't have control on how many babies you get pregnant with at once!" He defended himself.
I sighed, "I know, but three...Hades, I don't know if I'll be a good enough mother for three."
He gently cupped my cheek, "Hey, we're in this together. We'll figure it out, surely there are mothers in the pack who will help you. They probably won't help me, but they'll at least help you."
I frowned, "You're going to really take the disrespect from your pack?"
Any thoughts of the pregnancy vanished as anger replaced my anxiety.
Hades sighed, "I'm more concerned with other things. Like Elvira."
"Yes, but she's a threat to the whole pack. They should respect you as their Alpha. You've never done anything wrong to them, so they have no right to be so rude to you.
If you don't get that through their thick skulls, then I will."
He stared at me for a few seconds then nodded in defeat.
I felt slightly guilty for my snappy tone, but I couldn't take it anymore. He's their Alpha, he protects this pack every damn day and they act like this. I was disgusted with them, the only two who are worth protecting are Melody and Jackson. Since they actually act like pack members.
We left the infirmary in silence, both of us thinking. Hades suddenly stopped me and looked at me.
"Are you okay?" He asked with obvious concern.
I nodded, confused as to why he was suddenly worried. "Yeah, why?"
"You look angry, is it something I did?" He asked.
"No...maybe.."
"What did I do?"
I sighed, "You never fight your own battles! Sometimes you do, like your fear of cars. I'm proud of you for that, but I'm probably going to end up getting sense through the pack. I know you won't say or do anything, because you're afraid to.
Hades, I'm trying my hardest to help you, but you need to help with that. I'm pregnant with triplets and in a few months I'm probably going to be on bed rest. I can't keep protecting you twenty-four seven like a child. I love you and I'm really scared for you.
What if you know who comes back? H-he could hurt you or...k-kill you...and then-
"Hey, whoa calm down. I know, okay? I know I'm a coward who can't fight his own battles. I just don't care for the pack's respect anymore. I learned a long time ago that I'll never earn that." He said, cutting me off.
I shook my head, "You don't understand, Hades."
"What don't I understand?" He snapped.
I looked at him, I know he's getting frustrated but I've had enough. I sighed and gently shoved him away from me.
"Your attitude towards the pack is stopping you from sticking up for yourself. For almost everything. I feel like I'm babysitting you half the time! Damn it, Hades, I'm just scared for you!"
I could see the anger swirl in his eyes and that same fear started to creep back.
"I'm sorry I'm such an immature brat! Okay? I've been fighting my own battles but mostly with my own damn demons. I have so much shit to think over and get through that my concern for the pack's respect is the last thing on my list!"
"That just makes you a weak Alpha. An Alpha demands respect from his pack by just standing there and not speaking!" I growled.
He narrowed his eyes before storming off. I stood there in stunned silence before silent tears slowly made their way down my cheeks. I took a deep breath and walked back to our room.
I laid on the bed and cried, why can't he just fight his own battles for once? I know how it is to fight your own demons, but that doesn't mean he should allow people to blatantly disrespect him. I eventually fell asleep, drained from the fight and crying.

"Celina!"
I snapped my eyes open and looked up. Melody's eyes were wide.
"What?" I asked.
"Hades...he...."
Fear froze my heart as I sat up. "Melody, what happened?"
She took a deep breath, "He got into a car crash."
