as i stood in front of her house, regret was pushing me over the edge.

was it really right to appear at someone's house with no invite?

if it means saving someones life.

The driveway was empty,  gravel skittering across the path of stone.

i hesitated before i made my way up her driveway.

it was a simple house, painted white with a brown roof.

from what i could see, the rustic house contained one floor.

blue curtains from inside the house waved at me as they twirled.

taking one last breath, i clenched my fist and knocked on the door.

the sound of my hand echoed through the house.

no one came to the door after five minutes.

this time, instead of knocking, i rang the doorbell.

a cheery chime played out, but still no one came to the door.

was she even home?

instinctively, i pulled open the screen door and grabbed the door handle.

without even pushing it, the door swung open.

i checked my surrounding before entering the house.

a startled cry escaped my throat when i looked at the ground.

olivia laid unconscious, a bottle of pills cramped into the palm of her hand.
