*Adam's POV*

High-School.

School's alright.

I mean, sure people can be idiots sometimes but I handle them pretty well. Yes, it hurts being called a fag and disgusting all of the time, but I do have one awesome friend, Rose, who makes everything better. Plus, it doesn't hurt that I can come up with come-backs on the spot, which they never expect. But, I'm still looking for that someone who will make my life complete.

-Monday at school-

So it's the second semester and I am pretty excited for the change in classes. Oh, and I get to start in drama! At my old school, I used to be an assistant director. Now though, I can only hope that my new director sees my talent. Theater is all I really live for. And I only have it second period. But I do have study hall seventh and art eighth. They're probably my second favorite classes that I have now.

"Hey Adam," Rose said. Her black hair had red tips and was hanging in her face. She wore thick eyeliner and mascara and looked scene.

"Hmm?" I was so glad she was in my homeroom so I wasn't by myself.

"Guess whaaat!?" she perked. I raised an eyebrow at her. "In drama, I heard that there is another gay guy coming!" She had this big smile on her face but she kept her voice down, not wanting to start anything.

"Really? What's his name?" I asked, leaning closer.

"I think it's Tommy Joe...something. I've only heard him being called Tommy though, and not in a good way." Her smile weakened. "But, it is great for you!"

I thought about it for a moment. It would be nice for another gay guy to be in drama with me, and maybe we could become friends... or more. "Well," I said. "Can't wait for second period!"

I'm in reading and English right now, well, right before it starts. We don't really do much so I get to doodle a lot and work on some poems and songs that I write. I sit in the back of the class, away from all the obnoxious people. Well, I at least try to stay away from them. Great, Alysha. I never knew someone could be so cold hearted. "Well, look here girls. Mr. Faggot writes poems!" she said, her clique giggling along with her.

I rolled my eyes, took a breath, and looked up at her. "You know what, you're just so beautiful that no one will know," I replied.

She looked at her 'friends' then back at me. "Know what?"

"That you're a dude," and I started to write on my scrap paper again. She made an exasperated sigh and stormed off, red faced and huffing. I laughed to myself. She can give it, but she can't take it.

At last its drama time! I rushed down the hall to the auditorium and got there a minute or two early. I ran up to the teacher. "Hi, my name is Adam Lambert. And I was just wondering if there is anything I could do to help out."

The teacher, Miss Mook, laughed softly and smiled cordially. "Well I can see that you are into theater! Yes, there is something that you could work on. Could you finish painting that prop over there? And tomorrow are auditions for our play, 7:00 a.m. sharp."

I nodded fast and ginned. "Oh, yes, I'll be there!" and I sped off to the stage.

It's been a while since I've been up here. When I was painting, I saw Miss Mook talking to another student. A boy. A cute one. Could this be Tommy? I'm sure that he cannot be straight, judging on what he looks like. And I loved his hair and make-up, so perfect. He looked like he was going to turn my way, so I face the wall and continued with what I was doing.

"Hey," a small shaky voice said. I was startled, the paintbrush sipped from my hand, landing back in the bucket of green paint. I peered over my shoulder to see a guy with blnde hair looking down at the floor; his face held a faint pink blush. I decided to stand up and face him, meeting him correctly. Was he...staring at me? And blushing? Oh he was so adorable.

"Hey, I'm Adam," I said.

"M-my name is Tommy Joe Ratliff." Tommy? Aha! It is that gay guy Rose was talking about! My lucky day. I couldn't help but smirk.

"Tommy, eh? Well Tommy, nice to meet you. Would you mind helping me finish this prop?" I gestured to the half painted board and looked back at him. Our eyes locked and I swear his face turned a bright shade of red.

"Umm, sure." He gave me a small smile as his gaze tore from mine.

I kneeled back down, moving over slightly so he could kneel beside me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him lift the paint brush out of the blue paint, shaking slightly and he painted to upper half of the prop. I picked up the paintbrush I had and went back painting the bottom.

I smiled to myself as we worked on painting the board.

Today is turning out to be a good day.
