Chapter Four

“Seriously?” I asked Liza. She had just brought in my new uniform. It was a knee high skirt and a white shirt with a blue cardigan. Can it get any worse!

She laughed. “August Boarding School for the talented takes pride in what we wear. Even if it is hideous.” She said in a mocking voice.

“For some reason this outfit looked a lot better on the werewolf’s.” I said to her.

“Of course, there like as rich as Donald trump. It’s ridiculous; they have their outfits tailored to ‘fit their needs’. Stupid rich kids.” She mumbled the last part to herself.  I know were supposed to hate them, but I can’t bring myself to it. Especially to that boy, Micah.

“Hey Liza why do they all have blonde hair blue eyes? It’s kind of freaky.” In a good way.

“Oh.” she had an evil grin on her face. “In the old days the witches put a spell on them. They punished them to all look the same, they were so conceited that we thought by making them all look like Barbie’s that they would maybe change their ways,” Her grin turned to a frown.  “But it led to exactly the opposite. It lead to war, and then the old ones had to put a spell on them so that they can only fully change on a full moon, but they found a loop hole. Now they can change whenever they want.”

So that’s where the tale about how werewolf’s can only change on a full moon came from.

“Well let’s change the subject. How about I show you around, classes start tomorrow.” I nodded.

She led us, well levitated us out of the building.

Once we were outside I immediately felt an attraction to something. I turned around and saw the ‘it’ boys. I couldn’t help but envy the girls that were around them. I wanted to be close too, but I knew if I were even to take a step in their direction I would be lynched.

Liza pulled my arm, and guided us in the opposite direction when we heard yelling. I looked before me to see an enraged boy walking to the werewolf’s. He was obviously a witch. Before he stormed passed us he locked eyes with me then continued on his way. There was a huge crowd of witches behind him.

Liza and I followed. The wolf’s all took a step, ready to confront us.

The boy took a step forward and so did Micah and his posse of hot friends.

“What’s the problem Ray?” Micah asked.

“One of your mutts left a stink bomb in our dorm.” I could see his friends trying to hold back their laughter.

“We know of no such thing.” Micah said, with the coolest poker face. If he was at a poker match, you would never be able to tell if he was bluffing or not, but that doesn’t apply in this case. His wolf friends gave him away.

“Bullshit!” Ray took a step forward, and I could tell he was about to use his powers. I saw Micah and the wolf’s get ready to attack. This is going to be a massacre if someone doesn’t stop them.

Now a little thing about me. I’m not a hero, nor do I ever, and I mean never jump into the middle of a fight and try to stop it. I’m usually a bystander, the one who runs and gets the teacher but today something took over my body.

I ran into the middle and I held out my hands. One in front of Micah and one in front of Ray.

“You will not fight.” My voice sounded different, otherworldly. It was like I was watching everything threw my eyes, but I couldn’t control my voice or body.

“This is stupid, and irrelevant.” I turned to Micah and said “We all know one of your wolfs threw the stink bomb, now tell him to clean it up!”

He looked taken back, but he turned around and said something to one of his wolfs and the guy went running towards the dorm.

“Now everyone scatter!” As soon as the words left my mouth everyone went in different directions, except Ray, Micah and Liza.

I dropped my hands because my mind was being thrust back into my body. I held my head.

Liza came to my side. “Wow! That was amazing. That was about to be World War III, but you stopped it.” I gave her a crooked smile. I really couldn’t take the credit for all of that because I wasn’t the one saying those things.

We started heading back to the dorm when he spoke.

“Listen witch, you step in the middle of a fight again and you’ll be the first to get killed. Got it!” I turned around and locked eyes with him, and I’m positive his eyes widened a little. He turned and left without another word.

“Stupid mutt.” Ray said. I almost forgot he was there.

He turned to me and said “I’m Ray.” He held out his hand. I took it and he gave it a small kiss.

I blushed.

“I’m Henrietta.”

“Beautiful name for a beautiful girl.” he gave me a small smile.

“Okay Ray lay off.” Liza said. “This aint’ the time to bring out Mr. Casanova.” With that she took my hand and sped us back to our room.
