Chapter Three

“Mom you can’t send me away!” I’ve been pleading with her for hours.

She shook her head. “Listen Henrietta, I’ve had enough of the bullshit. You’re leaving and that’s it! Every school we send you to there’s a problem. Why can’t you be normal like your sister?” she yelled.

That hurt… a lot.

She must really be upset. My mom never yells, more over she never curses. She thought it was unlady-like.

I looked to my dad, ever so quiet. I sighed. I have no life line.

“Fine!” I yelled. I grabbed my bags and slammed the front door. Never looking back.

I got in the back seat of the driver’s car and sulked.

I hate my life. You know how there’s up’s and downs, my life is a whole bunch of downs and no ups. It’s always been a downward spiral for me. And to tip the iceberg Rosa passed away leaving me all alone. The only upside to that situation is that she left me her powers. I had denied them at first but she insisted. If only I knew how to control it.

I could feel my eyes watering, remembering the loss of my best friend, but I wasn’t about to let my mascara run. The last thing I want is to go to my new school with red puffy eyes.

I just hope once I got there I could fade to black, go invisible. Pull a Casper the ghost disappearance.

I looked out the car window, noticing the incoming clouds. I wonder where I’m going. I watched the passing houses and felt my eyelids becoming heavier. I let sleep take me.

The next time I woke up I was being nudged by the driver.

I bolted up. “Huh… what happened?”

“Nothing miss. You’ve arrived, please exit the car.”

“Oh, of course.” I said getting out the car. Once I stepped out the car I knew my Casper the ghost act was a fail. Every-one with their blond hair and blue eyes turned to me and stared.

“Miss ..?” The driver asked.

My head snapped to him, and he had my bags in his hands.

“Oh sorry.” I grabbed them and headed to my building. I think it was building C. As I walked every-one stared. Great! They all looked so perfect. The girls looked like Barbie, while every guy looked like Kent. Awesome! I probably looked like the dirt they scraped off the bottom of their shoe, with my black as night hair and crayon blue eyes.

As I reached the front door of building C, I heard a bunch of girls scream. By then all eyes were off me and on whoever the girls were screaming at. I tried to look past them, but it was impossible. They were a wall of pencil skirts and short dresses.

Even though there were a crowd of people screaming in joy at the boys, there was also a crowd of people knitting their brows and frowning at them. They didn’t have blonde hair or blue eyes. They were a mixture of races.

I wonder what’s that all about. I could literally cut the tension between the two groups.

I walked into the building, and looked right to left. The place was huge! The paper said I was on the fifth floor. I looked at the spiral stairs leading up and wondered how in the hell was I going to climb those steps.

I took a step towards them when a voice said “I hope you’re not planning to climb all those steps by foot?”

“Ah yeah. How else was I going to get up there?” I looked at the girl and had to hold back a gasp. She was so beautiful. She had long brown hair and the clearest green eyes.

“Magic, duh!” How does she know about magic? She came over to me wrapped one hand around my waist and we started levitating up.

Once we were at the top I pushed away from her. “How do you know about magic?”

“We’ll talk when were in our room.” She said. She grabbed my hand and led me down the hallway where we stopped at room 13B.

Once we got inside, I repeated myself. “How do you know about magic?”

 She sighed.

“I thought they would have told you before you came here.” She said to herself. “Okay so here’s the deal. You’re a witch; I’m a witch, half this school is filled with witches. The other half is full of werewolves.” She said with a scowl. “The only reason we go to school with them, is because The Order wanted a future that doesn’t involve violence. The war between werewolves and witches has to stop somewhere. But in my opinion, it will never stop. With those sloppy mutts, they think there so perfect with their blue eyes and blonde hair. Psh!” I looked at her dazed. How did I get transferred to THIS school?

Just my luck.

“I don’t understand why I’m here though?”

“Because The Order recognized you as a powerful young witch. They had to recruit you. You see this school is filled with the most powerful young witches and werewolves. Every wolf is an alpha and every witch has reached their maximum level of power. I can’t believe no one’s told you any of this. Oh and if you’re wondering my name is Elizabeth. You can call me Liza.” I opened my mouth to tell her mine but she cut me off. “So let me see your schedule. It should be the same as mine.” She grabbed it from my hands and started reading it.

So this is what Rosa was talking about. She said there was a war between us and the werewolves but I just couldn’t believe it. I guess this is my proof.

I took a look around at my room. Small I thought.

I heard a scream. I ran to the window to see a crowd of girls. They were crowded around four boys.

Liza came up next to me. “Those are the ‘it’ werewolves. I have to admit there beautiful, but they are the number one witch haters. So I would stay away from them.” They were beautiful, I mean beyond.

“What's their names?” I asked dazed.

“The one on the right is Athen, the one on the left is Roman, the one in the back is Eden, and the one in the front, Mr. Leader is Micah.”

Micah I said to myself. I think I might like it here after all.
