Chapter 11 : So You're Not A Vampire?

I've never seen anything like it. Two vampires fighting I mean. Sometimes you couldn't even see where they were that's how fast they moved. But every word was heard by Elryria and I. Every last one. I've never been scared of anyone other than Chief in the past four years but Mera looked as though she could even take on him. Her eyes looked so cold and distance as she looked down on the vampire who couldn't move. The blood on her dried and the wounds already healed. As she jumped around to the platform with the other familiar on it is was like she was someone else. Someone, or maybe even something, from another world. If she wasn't a vampire what was she?

"You guys should untie her" her voice echoed cold and tired "Animals don't really like me" Elryria shaked her head before jumping across the cave to the girl and familiar. She too flew across her demon following closely. I shaked my head how did they do it? I might be good at fighting but I've never been gracefully when I did fight. As Elryria landed Mera moved quickly away and made her way back not lifting her head once

"You going to just leave me here?" The male vampire cried. Damn he's still alive. I'm about to answer and tell him that if he wants to die so badly I would happily help him with that when Mera froze and looked down on him

"Yes. You can wait until someone finds you stuck there" She called "The crystals holding you in place and everyone will know that even something as ancient as you can be defeated"

"Oh you are cruel" He moaned tossing his head slightly only to bash it into another crystal

"Maybe you'll die before then" She replied "I could not care less" She landed next to me and tried to move past me but I grabbed her hand and pulled her back

"You're not going anywhere until you tell me what the fuck you are, freak" I growled

"Well she is what is called a Fury" The actual vampire said from the ground "And they ar-"

"Did I ask you leech?" I snarled glaring at him "She might have decided to let you let you live but I might just cut off your head if you try and talk again!" He cringed slightly and his voice disappeared.

"Now you red-eyed freak" I said turning to Mera "What the fuck is a fury!"

"It's hard to explain" She said not looking at me

"Then make it easy" I said tugging her arm and pushed her against the wall looming over her

"A fury is an artificially or chemically made vampire" She said shrinking into herself

"The fuck is that? You're some 'made' vampire?" I sneered "You went to some stupid scientists and said 'hey I'd like to be a vampire but without all changing part, huh?"

"No that's not what happened--" She whispered

"You're pathetic" I spat "Some of us actually do work to be strong unlike you who just uses other people"

"Please stop" She whimpered

"Why? Can't face the truth?" I said scowling at her.

"You don't know anything about the truth" She said bitterly her eyes finally meeting mine. I gulpped as her anger met my own. I felt as though I could drown in the redness of her eyes

"You don't know what they did to me" She said shoving me and I actually fell right onto the floor. I caught myself on my hands and the skin broke making some blood leak out. Her eyes widened and the anger was gone replaced with something else. She opened her mouth but then closeed it as she looked away. She shaked her head and ran out the tunnel disappearing into the darkness

"Good job, Pretty Boy" Elryria said making me jump. She was standing behind me with a giant wolf behind her. It's fur iwas brown and white looking a bit like a husky and it had the brightest blue eyes. Carefully braided behind its ear were two feathers that were white with a bit of blue. I guess it must be Trix the second familiar. Greta had settled on her back cleaning her feathers "You managed to scare off the only nice one of us and the one with the map"

"She hasn't gone far" Greta said puffing her feathers "I think she is just trying to calm down" I sighed

"Stupid Vampire" I grumbled standing up and brushing my hands off

"She isn't a vampire, Princess" Elryria said glaring at me "That's why you said those things remember? Vita!" I cringed at her voice

"Whatever" I muttered

"Let's go" She said walking to the opening

"You're really just going to leave me here to suffer?" William cried

"Yes unless you'd prefer if we just killed you now" Elryria yelled at him

"Please just leave me here to suffer" He called back his voice shaky

"Vita, you are a worthless creature" she muttered walking into the dark "I hope Mortem lets you burn when you finally die" My eyes widened further at her curse. Saying such things about Mortem was not good

"Lun" A new voice called, who must be Trix, pulls me out of my trance "Grab onto me, I hear you have troubles in the dark" I grumbled under my breath as I hold onto her fur and we too walk into the darkness

"I really need a cigarette" I muttered

Finally we were outside the stupid cave. Mera was waiting for us sitting up in a tree, staring up at the stars with a sort of wonder in her eyes. The moon shined brightly lighting up the night. Clouds lazy floated through the sky and I could feel myself breathe again. Under the stars I always feel whole as if they are welcoming me home. Did Mera feel the same way as she stared up at them? I wanted to ask but when she looked down at us her eyes lost their glow. Guilt flowed through me as though a waterfall was falling through me

"Where to next?" She called her voice weary. We all turned to the familiars and watch as Trix lifts her head into the air. She brought in a long breath and then howled. It echoed through the air. The air around her glistened and glowed slightly blue before lifting up and into the mountain.

"Kou is at the top of this mountain" The wolf said sniffing the air "Though he is trapped in something different from a cage"

"What is that suppose to mean?" Elryria asked glaring at the familiar

"How should I know?" She replied smiling as best a wolf can "I can only tell you what my nose knows and what the moon hears" Elryria huffed and turned away

"Hey Red-Eyes!" She called to the fury "Come help me make a fire. We can leave in the morning"

"Okay" Mera said jumping down. She quickly started looking for firewood

"And you twinkle-toes" She called turning to me "Make some food would ya?"

"My name is Lun, not twinkle-toes!" I said glowering at her

"Lun, Twinkle-toes, what's the differences?" She said shrugging 

"One of them is actually a name" I argued

"You're right, no one normal would name their kid Lun" She said laughing at me

"You are so dead!" I called

"You've already used that one" She replied

"You know if I didn't have to work with you, you would be dead" I growled

"Sure, sweetheart. Whatever you say" She said sitting down. I hate her so much!

Hahaha you guys are so lucky! I was going to make that so much more painful but I couldn't because I love Mera to much. Sigh. I'm a horrible person.
