Chapter 10: If I Must Fight

The voice came from a man who stood on one of the crystals. His body was lean and defined. He stood with a sort smirk on his face. He had not just one or two swords on his back but five and even more by his side. His black coat covered most of his body except his arms which had wrist gauntlets on them. His hair is grey with black tips but he looked far from old. His eyes seemed to be silver but it might of been a trick of the light. He was pale too, almost as pale as me but what mainly stuck me was his scent. Blood and decay as though his body was dead. A vampire. A real one and he was standing just a little way from us.

"Who the fuck are you" Lun called his voice angry

"Why I am William" He said his voice cold but smiling. He seemed to enjoy Lun's anger "And who might you be, boy?"

"I'm not a boy! And I'm Lun" He yelled

"You are a boy compared to me" William said swinging one of his swords "As I am nearly 100 years old"

"Vampire!" Elryria spat out her eyes dark

"But of course" He said in a sing song voice "Don't act so surprised, I mean you have one of us in your misd"

"She's different" Elryria said glaring at the man "She's on our side" William took a long sniff of air and smiled

"You're right, she is different but not for the reason you think" He said smirking at me "She is definitely a rarity"

"I don't know what the fuck you are talking about" Lun said venomously "And frankly I don't give a shit about your creepy vampire ways. Just get out here"

"I'm afraid I can't do that, boy" He said his face cold "My employers don't want anyone getting to this piece of treasure"

"Ask me if I care!" Lun called his voice echoing around the room

"You should because my employers also want anyone who comes in here to be 'put down' if you caught my drift" He laughed as Lun reached for his gun "You think you can fight me, boy?"

"I will if I have too" He growled

"No" I said watching the man across the room "He is an ancient vampire, it would be better if I fought him"

"What makes you think you can beat him?" Lun said turning to me

"I'm a relatively new vampire so my powers are quite strong" I lied "I should be able to distract him enough that you can get Trix. Also your gun won't work on him unless it's designed to kill vampires"

"And what your sword is?" He said glowering at me

"Well yes, it's designed to kill anything and everything" I said watching William. My sword was a specially made for General. It contained many different types of metal and so it was able to kill a huge range of mystical beings 

"I don't care which I fight" He said smiling "I'll kill you all anyway"

"Fine fight him" Lun huffed "But if you die it's not my fault"

"Of course not" I said moving forward reaching to my sword "Well then William shall we fight?"

"Oh we shall" He grinned and suddenly he was there right in front of me his sword at my throat. I jumped back just in time and landed on one of the rocks. I felt my body react to his action and quickly my sword was my hand.

"Quick aren't you?" He said jumping to to me. My sword blocked his blow and I jumped again

"As quick as I need to be" I replied flying to him and swang my sword down. He was gone just before it hits and it landed on the rock leaving a crack in it. I turned quickly and kicked him away before his sword reached me

"Strong too" He said landing gracefully "Though I shouldn't be surprised given what you are"

"If you have time to talk, you have time to die" I said leaping at him just gashing his leg as he jumped away again

"You need to time yourself better" He said flinging his body at me and pushing me to another rock "You're holding yourself back"

"Be quiet" I said as I pushed him back our swords making sparks

"And so polite" He grinned as our swords grinded together his fang showing "I wonder who taught you that?"

"That isn't any of your business" I said pulling away making him fall slightly as I sliced at him. Just missing he jumped back and threw one of his swords at me. I moved quickly but it still cut into my cheek. Blood trickled down

"Oh blood" William said his eyes flashing red for a second "You know that vampires don't have that don't you?"

"That is unimportant" I said trying to shove my sword at him

"I think it is quite important" He said throwing another sword at me. It flew past and jamed itself into a crystal making it shatter and fall. I jumped quickly out of the way but William wasn't so lucky. A piece of it pierced him in the leg. He yelled out and pulled it out and only just blocked my next swing. His sword on the other hand didn't make it as it shatters too

"Its really not" I snarled jumping back as his fist came for me. He pulled the crystal out of his leg no blood at all. Just a gaping hole

"See vampires don't bleed" He said jumping up again and moving closer to Trix. I quickly moved and blocked him my sword at his throat. He moved again only just touched by my blade. I moved quickly forgetting about the others and what they shouldn't see. It was already too late, they knew something is up. I leaped, my sword high as he jumped. His body was limping because of the crystal so he wasn't moving nearly as fast as before.

"It's been awhile since I've been challenged" He said jumping up to a higher rung. His blade came raining down on me and as they pierce my flesh I only cringed slightly pulling them out

"And it might be the last time" I said my voice cold as I threw his swords back at him. One went straight through the rock and pierced his foot. He jumped pulling it with him and he only just landed on a rock

"Yes, that's good" He said panting slightly "Show me the power of the Fury!" His eyes went red and he threw himself at me. Our fight continued with mid air slashes. His body seemed stronger again but he was using all his energy. We landed and flew again on repeat.

"You can't defeat me!" he yelled as he cut at my arm "No one has ever defeated me!"

"I will change that" I said my voice calm and loud

"You're a fake!" His words cut into me "Nothing but an imitation!"

"That might be true" I said slamming my sword down on his arm cutting it clean off. His scream filled the air "But even a fake can beat you" I kicked him and he fell onto the crystals on the floor. They impale into him and he screamed again as they pierces through his stomach

"You might have defeated me" He said his eyes glaring up at me "But you'll never defeat him"

"I'll keep that in mind" I said standing the blood on my cheek dry. I tried not to look at Lun and Elryria as I jumped to where Trix is. I slammed my sword into the rock and it crumbled away

"You guys should untie her" I said to them "Animals don't really like me"
