When Pams is already out of the view, I jerk off Jonathan's arm on my shoulder. I turn to glare at him, "I cannot believe you."
"What now?" He says as if he's tired of me already,
"That bitch," I point at where Pams went "is the one who made my life a living hell, literally and emotionally. And now you're attracted to her? Wow, this betrayal hurts."
Jonathan just laughs at me  "I can smell jealousy from you Eli, not gonna lie it looks good on you."
I stand up straight and shove him away as I walk to the passenger side, "Eli I'm just kidding." I didn't turn around instead I jump in the car and put on my earphones and shut off their voices.

When We arrive home Jonathan is still apologising for being a complete asshole. I didn't pay attention to him though, I just continue walking to the front door. Before I could open it the door swing open and mom and my old man came in to view.

"Good you're finally here, your father is just leaving." Mom said to me as he gestures to my old man.
How can mom stomach seeing him? I watched her cry herself to sleep when dad left. How can she be so strong and kind at the same time?
I look at him "bye." And goes inside bumping him on his arm.
"Elizabeth, that's no way to talk to your dad." Mom says behind me, "It's no problem,, Eli must be just tired." I hear my old man says to mom.
"Don't call me name." I start to say as I turn around, "don't come to our house, don't act like you didn't do shit. My dad was a good man, he was sweet and lovable but he died. He died the moment he left me and my mom."
"Honey I--" I stopped him,
"If you're going to the father-sorry-daugther-thing shut it! I don't wanna hear any excuses! Just face it old man I don't want you in my life, I don't ever want you in my life again! You're the one who left, right? I don't have a Dad cause he's gone for good. He's good as dead to me." I feel the tears running down my cheeks, I wipe them off with my fingers and turn my back at them and head to my room.
Why the hell is he even here anyways?! How could he show his face here... In Mom's home and he even have the audacity to smile at my mother?! After what he did?!

After a couple of hours Mom knocks on my door, "Elizabeth, can we talk?"
I close my laptop and hop down my bed and open the door. "What is it Mom?" I asks, "Eli, Honey." Mom grabs my hand, "Elizabeth... I know you hate your Dad--" I cut her off.
"If you knew then why did you let him come here? I don't want to see his face Mom. He neglected us! For what?! That girl?! She's a freaking slut Mom! Dad lost the most precious thing on earth when he left us!"
"Elizabeth! He didn't want that to happen... He was drunk and so was she!"
"Bullshit!"
"Elizabeth, mouth." Mom warns me,
"He cheated on you Mom!! In case you hadn't figure it out."
"I know! but Elizabeth.... I love him, he's the guy I've always been in love with. He came here today to apologize to you and to me. He said he's taking care of things and if it goes well he'll come back to us." Mom smiles at me, a smile I haven't seen her wear before.
Fuck she really does loves him still.
"Just like that? He's going to waltz back in our lives and pretend that he didn't do anything to break us up? I don't want him to come back Mom! I don't want to live in the same roof with him! He disgust me!! He let left me! Even though he knew I needed him! He didn't stayed by my side and protect me! He run off with his girl! You should know better Mom..." Mom opens her mouth but close it back again,

"I'm right am I?" I said, "See Mom? That's the truth. He's just an ass! And we don't need him in our lives." Mom just looks at me and lets go of my hands, "Eli, sometimes all we need to do is forgive in order for us to move on. Keeping hate or anger will just destroy us." Mom places her palms on my cheeks and squeeze them softly "remember that sweetie." Mom kisses my forehead before she leave.

But forgiveness is not so easy to give.

It's around 2 in the morning when I woke up by the sound of someone knocking on my door. It's freaking 2 IN THE MORNING!
I stand up still a but sleepy, I grab my bra and put it on before opening the door only to see Jonathan smiling at me.
"What do you want? It's fucking 2 in the morning Nathan, can you give me a break?" I am still a bit pissed at him.
"I know you're still mad at me, so let me make it up to you."
"Right now?"
"Yeah."
"Nathan, in case you hadn't notice it's 2 IN THE FUCKING MORNING! Can't this wait... Later? I am still very sleepy and tired."
"It can't, this is the perfect moment! Come on!" he grabs my hand and drags me out of my room
"Wait! At least let me change." I am only wearing my Pj's
Jonathan take a quick look at me, "You don't have too. Let's go!" he drag me down to the garage, "Here." he toss me the motorcycle helmet.
I look at the helmet and then at him "Where exactly are we going?" I asked him,
"It's a secret." he smiles at me, he hop on the motorcycle then look at me, "Come on Eli. It'll be fun, I swear." he offers me his hand while smiling at me.
I blew out a sigh and put on my helmet, "this better be!" I said before taking his hand and joining him.
"It will don'y worry." he said before turning on the engine and drive off somewhere.

"What are we doing here?!" I raised an eyebrow at him,
"We're going to swim what else?" he grins
He brought me to the club house! And tell me to swim?
"Are you fucking with me? I don't have any swimsuit with me." I'm only with my Pj's
"Well..." he takes off his shirt and shorts, he's only wearing a boxer short, "Under wears are also considered as swimwear." he winks at me then jump into the pool.

"Whoa! Fuck! It's cold!" he shouts, "Come on Eli!" he said
"It's cold!"
"Come on, it's not like we haven't done this before. This is much better than the last time." he gestures at me to join him in the water. Back in America when it's ear the winter season we'd do this stupid ass bet. Who can last longer in the water, both of us almost got hypothermia from it and frostbites.

I shake my head and start undressing until my undies are the only ones left. I hear Jonathan wolf-whistle at me, I just glare at him and told him to shut up.
"Here I go...." I take a few steps back then shout "CANNON BALL!" and run towards the pool and jump! It created a HUGE splash!
I sink into the water, the coldness feels like needles piercings my skin "Damn! It's cold!" I said as I emerge to the surface. Nathan claps and nod in amusement "A lot better than before, but it's still and 8."
I chuckle and splash him some water "Shut up weirdo."
"There it is." Jonathan swim closer to me, "I haven't seen that smile today. I know I'm part of the reason why but I also know it's mainly because of your dad.
"Jonathan, not now please." I'm not really in the mood to talk about this. "Okay, okay, okay. Then how about a race?"
"Is there a price?"
"Winner gets to decide whatever price he/she wants."
"I'm in."
Jonathan and I swim back to the other end of the pool. "Better be ready when I win" Jonathan teases, "my middle name is ready." I wink at him and he just chuckles.
"Ready, set, GO!" We said at the same time and we both dive in and race to the other end.

I really am thankful to have Jonathan as my friend, he keeps me up in my bad days. I feel a slight squeeze in my chest that made me stop swimming. I could feel my heart thumping fast in my chest.
Is my heart fluttering???
No way! there is no way I'm going to fall for my best friend... NO WAY!
