Three sets of eyes continued to stalk their target as it stood out in the open in a seemingly unguarded stance. Their target: Hisayo Nakamura, replacement sensei of old Team Jiro. She was standing in the middle of the clearing, as if waiting for someone, with her eyes closed for the time-being. The light breeze that continued to blow in the area, played with her short white mane and caused it to flutter around the grey scarf that she continued to sport over her lower face to keep it from view.

All three sets of eyes glanced between each other before nodding and making their move. It was a simple mission for them and one that they had been planning since that very morning.

The first attack was made; several kunai shot out from the cover of the bushes, aimed for the white-haired woman whose back was to them. In one single and fluid motion, the kodachi tied securely behind said woman’s back was unsheathed. Hisayo turned and blocked all of the weapons, with ease. As she finished blocking the last kunai, she jumped to her right and twisted out of the way as a barbed whip attempted to slash into her flesh. She brought her weapon up to block as the whip adjusted and attacked. It twisted around the blade of Hisayo’s kodachi and held firm. Hisayo gritted her teeth as she tried to keep her blade from being ripped from her grasp.

In her preoccupied state, she was stabbed from behind. As she fell to the ground with wide-eyes, she poofed away in a cloud of smoke gaining several hushed curses from her attackers.

“Ugh! It was just a clone. I thought you said it was real this time!” Ken’s chocolate colored eyes looked over to hazel-colored ones in annoyance.

“I said I thought it was the real one. There’s a difference and anyway, you were suppose to be keeping track of her chakra.” Akira began to point the finger.

“Hey, let’s not fight over this you guys,” Suzume spoke up with a slightly pleading look on her face as she recoiled her whip, “It hasn’t been that long since he began working on chakra sensing, so don’t be so rough on him, ‘kay Akira?”

“She’s right,” Ken agreed,  “I only started two weeks ago you know, and it’s harder than it looks.”

Akira sighed, before looking to the ground. “You’re right,” he agreed before looking back up with a grin, “but, it looks like Suzume’s getting the hang of her training, good job!” he praised.

Ken also grinned, “Yeah, Hisayo-sensei was right when she said you’re a natural.”

Suzume’s face flushed red in embarrassment at the praise given by the two boys. “B-but Ken, I think you’re doing just as well as I am.” She stuttered.

“They’re right,” all three genin quickly turned to the sound of their sensei’s voice, “you have made very good progress in such a short time. I‘m very pleased.” Hisayo said as she walked out from the shade of the tree she was under. She then stopped before the three, “Are you three done with your little game? I have something to discuss with you all today.”

That was how it had been for the passed three weeks since she became the genin’s sensei. Every morning, they would plan a sneak attack and launch it. At first, they had failed miserably, but as the days and training went by, they had begun to improve. It had been the genin’s way of trying to prove themselves to Hisayo; that they were still more than capable of taking on missions like they had done in the past, but Hisayo wouldn’t hear of it. It had all been thanks to Akira and Ken’s display of fighting, that Hisayo had decided that they would not take on missions until their attitudes changed.

“Five year olds have no place in the field. Taking missions is for ninjas, not babies.” She had said, much to the boys anger.

“What?! But we’re not little kids!” Ken angrily retaliated, he wasn’t sure if he would like Hisayo as their teacher after all.
