When The World Fails You Part 3

Start from the beginning

“Wait a minute,” I raised my hands. “Before we decide on this, I have to talk to the principal and coach.”

“Why can’t we just practice in your backyard?” One of the guys suggest to me. “Its huge!”

I look at him. “I’ll have to see about that.”

Once I had the whole team over for practice. Everyone enjoyed it but me. They thought I had the perfect house. A huge white mansion with maids and a pool that could out length any hotel in southern California. The landscaping made it all look like a fairytale.

I was okay with them being over. I just prayed over and over that my parents wouldn’t show up. Then everyone would know the problems that this perfect family actually had.

I seriously believe every family has problems. I’m just pissed that I could have anything I want but a family who wants love instead of money. It hurts.

A lot.

But what could I do about it?

“Everyone run laps!” I ordered to them. They groaned but got up and started heading out. I turned to Kara. “Stay with me.”

She smiled and nodded. I’m seriously making this girls year.

When they all left I stood next to Kara and watched.

“They’ll catch up soon,” She reassured me.

“I know.” I said. I turned around and started to walk off. “Watch over them. Have them practice last years cheers since you know them so well. I’m going to my car to grab the ipod and stereo.”

“Ok!” I heard her shout behind me.

I walked over to my car and opened the trunk. Even though Maria thought I dressed up in costumes every once in awhile, she always remembered the things I forgot for school. Like this morning I totally forgot about my stereo to bring for practice. I called her and asked her to have it ready for me because I was going to skip lunch to pick it up.

“Its in your trunk mija!” She laughed over the phone. “I put it in last night after work.”

I smiled and shook my head. “How do you remember to do that?”

“Please, I’ve been taking care of you since you were five. I know you like to forget.”

“Well, I don’t LIKE to forget but ok.” I laughed. “Thank you Maria.”

I don’t think anyone’s ever loved me as much as she loves me.

She’s the only one who knows how to take care of me.

I sigh as I grab the radio and slam the trunk down. Only after walking on the other side of my car do I notice the long key marks running across the navy blue paint that I adored. My jaw dropped and I had to catch the stereo falling from my hands. It ran from the side of the trunk all the way to the front.

“Your fuckin kidding me…”I whispered to myself.

I put the radio down and run my fingers along the scratch.

At first I’m shocked. No ones every damaged anything of mine at school, or in general. It made me feel betrayed.

Then I’m angry because I know that bitch Giselle was the one who did it. It was obviously her. She tries to fight me during first period, I threaten to ruin her life passing period, and she fuckin keys my car.

Then, as I’m staring at my poor BMW who did NOTHING to ANYONE, I hear laughing behind me.

I know exactly who it is.
