When The World Fails You Part 2

So about Craig…

Everyone thinks we should be together. Me, with my good looks, blonde hair, blue green eyes, perfect teeth, perfect everything. Craig, with his black hair, blue eyes, chizzled what the hell ever. It was a match made in heaven. For them. Not for me.

I wanted something more. I wanted a guy who didn’t see me as such a threat. I wanted a guy who didn’t try to understand me because I was forcing him to. I wanted him to get me and my life because he wanted to. I wanted conversation. Not second base after a movie in the parking lot of the mall.

I’m asking for too much I guess.

“Madison, Craig is totally checking you out,” Kara, whose sitting next to me on the bleachers, leans in and says. “When are you going to date him? You know how perfect that would be if you and him were a couple for senior year?”

I look at Craig and he nods me a ‘hey’. I smile back but its not very full and the thought of him trying to do it with me when his parents were gone at his house made me want to puke. I could only imagine how many girls would actually like doing it when his parents were out.

Craig is gorgeous.

Ray makes my insides burn. A good burn of course. He gives me these flashes that literally make my heart jump. And all he has to do is look at me for a split second. Its so cliché. I can’t stand it but at the same time I just want to pull him to me and kiss those lips. I want to feel his piercing and slide my hands inside his shirt. I want to-

“Madison!” I snap out of my daze and look at Kara who was standing up and pointing to the field. “Look!”

I look over and the only girl that I seriously like, Courtney Vincent, is standing in the middle of a small circle of girls. I can see Giselle’s hair from here. I start getting mad and turn to Kara.

“Get the girls. I’m sick of her shit.”

Kara runs off and passes them up, heading towards the locker room. In about three minutes she’s going to send out a mass text to my whole cheer squad. They’ll be waiting by the gate so when I decide to attack Giselle the way she’s attacking Courtney so she can see how it feels.

Courtney is actually pretty tough for being the smallest on the squad. She’s this five foot brunette with mad looks and bigger hair than me. I can see her hands on her hips. The girls seem to be getting closer and I know she’s looking for someone to help her out.

I know Giselle though, I mean, I know girls like her. All say and no talk.

Before I know it, she walks off with her gang and they head back into the gym. I make my way to her and she sees me coming. Her stressed face from the situation changes into a full on smile. I can’t help but to smile back. One thing I always admired about Courtney was that she tried her damn best to be drama free.

“What’s up girl!” She embraces me in a full on hug.

“I’ve missed you over the summer!” I hold the hug for a few seconds then let go.

“Well someone doesn’t like to answer her phone,” She gave me a light push and said. She half turns for a second, looking over her shoulder then back at me. “Giselle told me to tell you a couple of things.”

I roll my eyes, “I’m a bitch, I’m fake, I don’t know anything, blah blah blah.”

Courtney laughs and nods. “Are you going to retaliate?”

“Did she threaten you?”

She shrugged. “I’ve heard worse. Remember when I almost got jumped by those black girls because I gave them a weird look…something along those lines.”
