Beneath the Dragon's Skin

Chapter VI

     [Your Name] made eye contact with Lukas. "Lukas," they started, with much determination. "I want to find that Opal."

     "Then what are we waiting for? If we fly there with you carrying me we can get there quickly," the blonde said monotonously, although the look within his eyes screamed, 'Adventure!'

     [Your Name] grinned in return with sharp and shiny white teeth. Lukas got up and closed his book, then turned towards his friend.

     "I'll go back to the village and get my things and tell everyone, alright?" He told the dragon, petting their head.

     They nodded and watched him walk back to the nearby village.

     And so, Lukas walked back to his village to get what he needed for the journey. When he arrived at his house, he gathered his 'family' in one room so he could talk to them.

     I put 'family' like this because they aren't all blood-related. So let me explain:

     Matthias is a Danish Viking originally from Denmark but moved here to Norway a while ago as did Tino and Berwald. Berwald is also a Viking but is from Sweden. And Tino is a Finnish farmer who recently moved to Norway for various reasons. And little Emil actually is Lukas' little brother. How they all met is for a different time.

     When everyone was in the room Lukas went in front of them. "I'm leaving for a couple of days," he bluntly told them.

     Everybody nodded in understanding—except for Emil, who already looked ready to cry.

     The white-haired boy ran up to his older brother and hugged him saying, "No! Please don't go, it always takes so long for you to return and then I get worried!"

     Lukas comfortably patted Emil's head and explained, "Don't worry Emil, I'll be taking [Your Name] so it will be much quicker."

     Emil looked up at his older sibling and sniffed. "Are you sure?"

     "Yep."

     The boy reluctantly let go of Lukas. "Okay...."

     Tino spoke up, "I'll go get you some food," he said and left the room.

     Lukas turned towards the Swede and started to ask, "Berwald, do you think you could make me a..."

     This is sort of a filler chapter. If any of you guys see any mistakes or something please tell me.
