Noah was an 18-year-old American student who had come to Berlin for a year as part of an exchange program. At first, the unfamiliar city felt almost like something out of a movie - old buildings standing beside modern architecture, crowded streets, different languages blending together on the subway, and people who always seemed to be rushing somewhere. Everything was new to him, but it never felt completely foreign.

His first semester went better than he had expected. He quickly made friends at university, became involved in several student circles, and gradually adapted to the rhythm of life in Berlin. It was around that time that he met Bella.

Bella was a 20-year-old half-German girl. She was confident, well-groomed, and always seemed composed. There was something about her that naturally drew people in - when she spoke, she had a way of holding your complete attention, often leaving you with the impression that she noticed far more about you than she actually said.

That was exactly what Noah liked about her at first.

During the first few weeks of their relationship, Bella was incredibly warm and affectionate. She would often meet him outside the university, talk to him for hours late into the night, and made Noah feel as though, in a foreign city, he had unexpectedly found someone who was already beginning to feel like home.

But not long after their relationship began, small details of Bella's personality started to surface - things Noah initially dismissed as simple jealousy or excessive attachment.

At first, they were insignificant.

Bella didn't like it when Noah went to parties where other girls would be around. Eventually, she started pointing out specific friends.

"Why are you so close to that girl?"

"She's just in my class."

"A classmate?" Bella smiled, though there was no real warmth in her eyes. "That's how it always starts."

Noah would laugh it off. He assumed Bella was simply jealous and that she would eventually get over it.

But as time passed, her jealousy changed direction.

Now, even Noah's male friends began to bother her.

One evening, after Noah returned from spending time with some university friends, Bella stared at him silently for a few moments. Then, as if she were simply continuing an ordinary conversation, she said:

"You know, I think a few of your friends are gay."

Noah laughed.

"What?"

"I'm serious."

"Where did you get that idea?"

Bella shrugged and studied his face.

"It's obvious. And you..." She paused, as if searching for the right words. "You look too feminine for a guy."

Noah's smile slowly faded.

"Bella..."

"What?"

"What are you talking about?"

"Nothing bad. I'm just saying I'm pretty sure some of them want you. To..
You know"

"Want me?"

"Yeah. Don't tell me you don't notice."

Noah found the whole thing ridiculous. At first, he still tried to defuse the situation with laughter. Sometimes he even teased Bella about how jealous she was. But whenever he tried to tell her that she was taking things too far, Bella would either become upset or act as though Noah simply didn't appreciate how much she cared about him.
