Oneness is not just "we are all connected", but the realization that there is no I. The edges between "my pain" and "the pain of the world" begin to blur. Your body is made from stars. Your thoughts are shaped by people you have never met. Your microbiology contains entire ecosystem. Your survival depends on fungal networks neneath forests you may never touch. You inhale what trees exhale. You exhale what trees inhale.
The "I" we defend so fiercely is less a thing than a meeting place. A temporary expression of relationships that extend far beyond the boundaries of our skin and a celebration of ancestry and strategies for survival. This concept of "I" isn't dscovered alone on a mountaintop but is is practiced through relationship, trust, vulnerability and witness without performing. Interdependence and consciousness are inherently intermingled. Love is not losing yourself in another person but is realizing the self was never singular to begin with and that everything that you love in someone is simply a mirror of the things within you, yet they are still a person of their own. Love is not about transcending humaness, but rather entering it more fully. More aware. More willing to understand and make peace with what you know and do not know. Love is all about learning too.
To love is to risk transformation. Love is biochemical and cosmic all at once. Love may truly and simply be the sensation of remembering that nothing truly exists in isolation. Yet, love is everything.
