Chapter 2:

My eyes fluttered open. I saw Damon's face looming right over me.

"Morning Sunshine" He said with an evil smirk on his face. I let out a surprised squeal then fell off  the bed.

"Come on you gotta get ready for school." He waited for me to get up, instead of helping me.

"Damon, It's 5 am" I complained while glancing over at the clock.

"and your point is...." He stared at me, a smirk still present on his face.

"i don't have school until 8." I got up on my feet, angrily crossing my arms over my body.

An evil smile came across his lips. "Well you know what they say the early bird catches the —-"

He was cut off as I reached up and threw my pillow at him. But of course he caught it when it was inches away from his face. After tossing the pillow back at me he walked out of my room, laughing maniacally all the way downstairs.

I grunted as I made my way to the shower and stayed in there until the water got cold. With little effort I walked out and went to my closet. Expecting to just throw on the first thing I saw I was stopped when all I saw were dresses from the 60's.

"Oh ya", I remembered, "I didn't unpack yet."

I walk over to my bags on the floor and threw on the first thing I came across, which happened to be black jeans and a flannel shirt. After having brushed my teeth and run a brush through my hair, I slipped on my daylight ring and made my way downstairs.

Damon was at the bottom of the stairs holding out a blood bag for me, I graciously took it from him.

"Slow down there, tiger" Damon laughed at me as I quickly drained  the blood bad.

"You laugh like the hyenas from the lion king" I retorted

"Don't be feisty," Damon reprimanded "and you better hurry or you'll be late to school, it's already 7:54"

"Shit," I looked down at my watch. "I'm gonna be late on my first day, great."

"Come on, I'll drive you" Damon offered and I gladly followed him to his car. We sat in silence as he sped down the road.

"Why are you being so quiet?" He asked not taking his eyes off the road.

"Damon, I can't do this" I was freaking out.

"Do what??"

"I cant go to school, what if I lose control and kill someone or worse what if they laugh at me"

He finally turns to me. A smirk appears on his lips as he says "So people laughing at you is worse than killing someone"

I know I should have laughed, he just trying to make me feel better, but at that moment, I just wanted to rip his head off for that joke.

"Calm down if they laugh at you, so what? What they think doesn't matter," Damon tried to reassure me. "and if you kill someone well then who cares, one less body crowding up the world."

"Calm down?!?! You want me to calm down" I shrieked.

Everything I had been holding back just suddenly flooded through me. " Everyone I know is just crazy. You're just such a dick sometimes and, Stefan is off eating bunnies somewhere and, me well, I'm just a mess. I can't keep living like this, I don't know how to be normal" I put air quotes around normal.

"You done yet?" He asked me after I stopped talking.

That's it. I was sick of his crude humor, I climbed out of the car to get away from him, but Damon was suddenly in front of me.

"Come here," He wrapped in his arms and pulled me close to him. "You'll be fine. Now go on, face your fears" Damon motioned with his thumbs over his shoulder to the giant brick building behind him.

Wow cant believe I hadn't noticed that was there, I thought to myself.

Damon handed me my backpack and planted a kiss on my head. I smiled at him and took a deep breath as I made my way over to the high school.

Please don't let me kill anyone, I said as a silent prayer.

I got a lot of looks on my way in, some good, some not so good, but mainly people just looked curious. I avoided everyone's gaze and went straight for the office to get my schedule. After some compulsion, the woman finally handed me my schedule.I was too distracted with looking at my schedule as I walked out, that I hadn't noticed there was someone in front of me.

"I'm sorry" I said to the boy I had walked into. He had dark brown eyes and brown hair and was dressed in all black. He sent me a death glare and mumbled a "whatever"  as he brushed past me.

Well that was extremely rude. The bell rang, knocking me out of my thoughts.

I hurried to find my class but of course since I was late, the dumbass teacher decided to make me introduce myself, or as I call it publicly humiliate myself.

"Well hello there I'm Mr. Tanner and you must be the new student. Being late on your first day is not a way to make a good impression" He said, matter-o-factly. I already hated this guy. I could tell this was the type of teacher that found joy in picking on his students. I knew we would have troubles with each other. "Since you have no problem coming late and interrupting my class, why don''t you introduce yourself."

"Um.. well I don't really know what to say, I'm Trinity, I guess." I mumbled while looking at the ground.

"Come on, tell us more, you must surely be more interesting than that, if you think you can just interrupt my class." Mr. Tanner egged me on.

"No, not really, I'm kind of a bore, which coincidentally so is your class."  I sassed back. This erupted a wave of laughter from the class. Mr. Tanner's face got so red, I thought he would explode right there and then.

Most people would just give up but he just pressed on and tried to pester me. "Any hobbies, talents, skills?"

"Nope." I said popping the p.

"Your parents must be so proud."He retorted.

"Actually my parents are dead." The entire room grew silent, I rarely ever played the dead parents card but this guy deserved it, he was being a dick. "They died when I was really young so I live with really close family friends, Damon and Stefan Salvatore, and they happen to be very proud of me, and so were my parents." I smiled sweetly and took a seat in the back.

It took awhile but Tanner finally picked his jaw off the ground and got back to his lesson. I kept my eyes on him the entire class, but he never once dared to look at me.

The rest of the day passed pretty quickly, I didn't have any complication, everyone seemed to avoid me, actually. I guess I scared them off, I tend to do that.

When the final bell rang signaling that it was time to go home. Since I really didn't want to go home and hang out with Damon, I decided to go to the grill, a diner/bar that I saw as we drove into town.

I had been sitting at one of the tables, watching some guys play pool. Then Barbie came prancing my way. "You're the new girl, Trinity right?" She asked in her shrill voice while flipping her golden blond hair.

"Ya" I mumble in response, still confused as to why she was talking to me.

"Well we need a new flyer on the cheer squad and you seem fit enough for the job."

"I'm sorry, what?" I asked in complete confusion.

"Try-outs are tomorrow after school. Don't be late." She said and left with another hair flip.

What the hell just happened?!?!
