CHAPTER TWO: LIFE OF CRIME

I smile from the back of the movie theater. I have been hiding in here for the past 10, maybe 9, movies it played. Free popcorn when the people who sit beside me aren't looking, free soda from them too.

The janitor comes in exactly six minutes after every movie, and that's when I go out the emergency door in the front, but keep a piece of wood to keep it open.

Eventually, the janitor leaves and there I am again, chilling in the back row.

As I sit there, I get hit by a thing. Greattttttt. Batman.

"Hi, there, Batsy." I call out into the empty theater. "Why don't you show up?"

Instead of Batman, its Boy Wonder. He comes out of nowhere and tries to punch me, which I duck.

"Oh, Boy Wonder." I roll my eyes. "Good to see you too."

"Is this what you've been doing lately, HeatWave?" He asks, trying to punch me again. "Hiding in a movie theater to watch Mockingjay Part 2 and Paper Towns over and over? Have you even paid once?"

"Nope." I smirk. "I don't believe in payment."

"Okay." He says. He isn't even trying to fight me anymore. We've moved to the steps, where we are now facing each other a couple steps apart. "You don't believe in payment?"

"Nope."

"What about money?"

"Haven't heard of that since a year ago."

"Have you heard of Belle Reve?"

"I don't think that that is necessary."

"What about Batman?"

"Meh, he can't attack me if he tried. Bats are scared of fire and light, remember?"

He tries to tackle me, which I duck, and he goes stumbling down the steps.

"Sorry, Robin, I really must be going."

And I ran out the door.
