Megatron stepped closer, his hand finding hers, fingers interlacing in a silent promise. "Don't worry. We're here for you. I'm here for you."
For the first time, June felt a glimmer of relief. She looked between them—her husband, and his first wife, both unwavering in their support—and though the fear still lingered, the sharp edge of isolation softened. She realized, in that moment, that she would not face this alone.
The room was heavy with emotion, but beneath it all, a fragile hope began to take root. Together, they would navigate this uncharted path—and somehow, they would find a way forward.
The room was quiet now, save for the faint hum of the desert night outside the windows. June sat on the edge of the couch, still holding the pregnancy test, while Megatron stood beside her, one hand resting lightly on her shoulder. Novastar remained nearby, her expression calm but vigilant, sensing the fragile balance of emotions in the room.
Megatron spoke first, his voice steady but soft. "We need to think about how to tell Jack and Miko. Carefully. They deserve honesty, but we have to be mindful of their feelings."
June's eyes filled with tears again, a mix of guilt and fear. "I don't even know if they'll understand... or forgive me. I never expected this to happen. I didn't want to bring more complications into their lives."
Novastar moved closer, placing a hand gently over June's. "June, they love you. Jack and Miko care about you deeply. It might shock them at first, but they'll see that this isn't about betrayal—it's about life, family, and the choices we make together."
Megatron's optics softened as he crouched slightly to meet June's gaze. "I'll be there when we tell them. We'll explain everything, from the beginning. No secrets, no fear. We face this as a family—one step at a time."
June shook her head slightly, trembling. "I'm scared, Megatron. I don't want to ruin what we've built. They're settled in their lives... Jack has his family, Miko has her own dreams. How could I ask them to accept this?"
Novastar's voice was gentle but firm. "June, the heart of family isn't just in comfort or convenience. It's in supporting each other, even when life surprises us. They may need time, but they will adjust. You are not alone, and neither is this child."
Megatron straightened, the weight of leadership in his presence as he spoke. "We'll approach them together. Jack will understand that this child doesn't replace anything in his life. Miko will see that we've thought this through and that our intention is to protect and support."
June's hands shook as she placed the test on the table, finally setting down the symbol of her fear. She exhaled slowly, feeling a sliver of courage seep through her anxiety. "You really think they can accept this? Even after everything?"
Megatron reached for her hands, squeezing gently. "I know they will. It won't be easy at first—but family isn't measured by ease. It's measured by love, patience, and trust. And we'll give them all three."
Novastar smiled softly, a rare warmth in her expression. "We're here to guide them, and you, June. Together, we'll make sure no one feels left behind. No one feels alone."
June nodded, swallowing the lump in her throat. The fear hadn't vanished, but for the first time since the revelation, hope flickered. She realized that the challenge ahead—telling Jack and Miko—wasn't just hers to bear. It was theirs to face together.
Megatron stood, brushing dust from his human disguise as he looked at both women. "Tomorrow, we start. Carefully, with honesty, and with love. Nothing else matters."
And in that quiet Jasper living room, with the desert night stretching endlessly outside, June finally allowed herself to believe that maybe—just maybe—they could navigate the impossible, as a family.
