"At once, no." I replied, and she giggled.

That's the best reaction I have gotten from her in days.

"You are forgiven." She beamed and ran to me.

I crouched down and wrapped my hands around her. "I am so sorry I wasn't there. I would consider your feelings first next time or inform you if there is a sudden change in plans."

She giggled and pulled away. "No bribery from you?"

I turned to look at him, still leaning on the wall.

"What do you want?" He asked.

She grinned and tapped her chin as if thinking about it.

"Three more days with you." She replied.

"I have an Empire to run."

"You can do it from home. You can only go out if it's super important. Deal or no deal?"

He looked at her with that blank expression. "Deal."

He turned around as if wanting to walk out of the room. "Now, where do you think you are going? You do as I say for a week. I'm in a mood for a movie, so we would be using the theatre room."

He turned around, still unreadable, and gave a thumbs up. "Let's go."

He walked out, and I turned to Sydney. "We are going dress shopping today so I won't be able to spend much time here. To check out the already made dresses."

She pouted and nodded afterwards. "It's fine. You girls better pick something gorgeous."

"You bet."

"I'm sorry for sulking for long. I was just really heartbroken when I didn't see you both after getting geared up. I went back to our tent, and your friends knew nothing either. They tracked your location after a while and told the guards to take me home. I felt so lonely like I was a burden to you both. Or maybe everyone. Maybe I should have died_" I cut off by wrapping my hands around her.

"Don't you dare freaking complete those words. You are not a burden to me, your uncle, or anyone. We all truly care about you. I didn't mean to leave you all alone after knowing how much it meant to you. I tried to stay to pretend I was fine, but I couldn't go through with it. I had to leave to clear my head. I am so sorry you had to feel like that. I'm glad your uncle has you at least. You are his only family left. I'm glad you chose me for this because I know I owe your mom that much. Never think like that again. We can't afford to lose you ever, and your uncle isn't lacking in that aspect."

"You got shot because of me."

"I would take the bullet so many times to avoid you getting shot. You can not die, you hear me. You are going to experience school life, have a boyfriend, kiss, achieve your freaking life dreams."

She giggled at my words and I couldn't help but join her. "Kiss a guy, really? Thought you would never approve of that."

I pushed my glasses back and sighed. "I am really springing into mom's mode. Only if I approve of him but you have to go to school first. Or is there something I need to know about?"

She shook her head while tapping her chin. "Does it look like I know any guy, my age? It's a no-no for now M."

"Good! Come here." I said and opened my arms for her again.

She grinned before wrapping her hands around me. I hugged her tightly while closing my eyes. I couldn't imagine anything bad happening to her. She has grown on me so much that I can't imagine not leaving here anymore.

"That day, does your mood change have anything to do with Em?" She asked and I sighed.

I nodded not wanting to lie to her. "Did he say something really bad?" I nodded at that again and she pouted.
