kai's pov
i wake up slowly in the middle of the night, blinking in the dim light. for a second, i forget where i am. this isn't my bed.
i sit up and rub my eyes, looking around. oh... i'm at aria's house. i see skye on the pillow beside me and reach to hold her close.
but... i don't see aria.
i sniffle a little. it's too quiet without her. i slip out of bed, my feet touching the soft carpet as i hug skye tightly to my chest.
the soft glow of a lamp lights up the living room, and i peek around the corner. there she is. curled up on the couch with a blanket, her book resting on her chest as she sleeps.
"aria..." i whisper softly, but she doesn't wake up.
i walk over carefully and gently tug on the blanket. "ariaaa" i whine.
her eyes open and she smiles all sleepy. "hi baby... what's wrong, sweetheart?"
"i wanna sleep wif you"
"oh baby... come here." she says opening her arms wide. i crawl onto the couch, into her arms and she pulls the blanket around us both.
i snuggle closer into aria's chest, her soft heartbeat making me feel safe. her arms wrap around me, pulling me gently against her. i bury my face into her warm breasts, letting out a small happy sigh.
"comfy, baby?" she whispers softly, her voice low and warm.
i nod, too sleepy to answer with words. her hand rubs my back in slow, gentle circles. i feel her kiss the top of my head, and that's the last thing i remember before falling asleep.
a few hours later it's early in the morning ,i wake up still snuggled against aria, the sun peeking softly through the curtains. she's already awake, looking down at me and playing with my hair.
"good morning baby girl" she whispers kissing my head.
i blink up at her and smile, still half asleep.
"sleepy girl" she teases, giggling softly. "are you hungry? i was thinking we could have pancakes for breakfast."
i sit up a little. "pancakes?" i mumble.
"mhm. and... i had an idea."since you like blueberry muffins so much, do you wanna try blueberry pancakes?"
my eyes light up. "blueberry pancakes? can we?"
"of course, bubba," she grins. "let's go make some."
she lifts me gently off the couch and holds my hand as we walk into the kitchen, ready for a yummy breakfast together.
