📘 Chapter 13: If They Find Out

They called it a "check-in."

But Yeonjun knew better.

It was a warning.

In a cold, fluorescent lit meeting room, the five boys sat on one side of a long table. Managers on the other.

The air was stiff.

Soobin's legs bounced silently.
Beomgyu stared at the floor.
Yeonjun didn't blink.

Then the manager spoke.

"You two have been trending for three days straight."

Silence.

"It's affecting brand deals. PR. Scheduling. We can't keep ignoring this."

Another manager added,

"If there's something going on, it needs to stop. Now."

That one word  "something" felt like a knife.

Soobin finally spoke.

"They're not hurting anyone."

All eyes turned to him.

He didn't flinch.

"Whatever it is. It's private. It's real. And it's not a scandal."

One of the staff scoffed.

"We're not trying to punish anyone. We're trying to protect the group."

Then...

"Then protect all of us," Taehyun said, cool and sharp. "Not just the image."

Beomgyu's eyes snapped up.

Taehyun met them. And for the first time, he smiled small, soft.

"You never had to explain, hyung. But I saw how you looked at him even when no one else did. And if that's not real, I don't know what is."

Hueningkai looked around. Nervous. Then raised his hand halfway.

"Um... I just think... love is cool."

Everyone blinked.

"Like, it's weird enough being idols. If they found something real, why break it?"

No one said anything for a long moment.

Eventually, the meeting ended with no punishment just "be careful," and "stay low."

But the damage was done.

Back at the dorm, Yeonjun lay on the couch, staring at the ceiling.

"They didn't say it. But they want us to stop."

Beomgyu sat beside him.

"Would you?"

Yeonjun turned to him.

Soft. Certain.

"Never."

Beomgyu leaned in, forehead against Yeonjun's.

"Then let's not hide anymore. Not fully. Not from the people who matter."

Yeonjun blinked, holding back tears.

"You mean the fans?"

Beomgyu shook his head.

"I mean us."

That night, Yeonjun posted a photo on Weverse.

Just the sky. A little blurry. Two stars visible.

The caption read:

Some things shine better in the dark. But they still shine.

The comments went wild again.

But this time...

Soobin liked it.
Taehyun reposted it.
Hueningkai commented: 💫💙

And Beomgyu?

He didn't post anything.

But in Yeonjun's room, he whispered,

"I see you."
