Chapter 17 : Phone Call, Endearments and Unfinished Business

Nani watched the love of his life, who was now standing up next to the bed, talking on the phone; half naked and more than a little displeased but trying to appear calm because he's talking to his mom.

Nani's eyes travelled all over Sky's body, freely. His man is so fair skinned, lean but toned, with muscles all at the right places; biceps and triceps defined well, front view is amazing with his six packs and mermaid lines so beautifully emphasized. Nani is half embarrassed of himself, boldly lusting after someone like this; but then again; that's his man. What's wrong with thirsting after you own man? Nothing.

Just as Nani's eyes followed Sky's mermaid lines down until they disappeared under the white shorts he was wearing, and noticing the bulge still visible; Sky turned slightly to the side. Nani's eyes shot up to Sky's broad strong back and saw some scratches there.

Nani blinked twice then realized that he was the one who made those scratches. He bit his lip, and pulled the blanket to cover his reddening face.

"Okay, mae .. " Sky said, hurriedly, willing for the phone call to end quickly.

If it's someone else, he wouldn't even bother picking up at all. Or he might have picked the call but he would have ended it in five seconds. But it was his mother; Sky almost groaned when he saw who was calling but he knew he had to pick up and he had to listen. At least for a few minutes.

Of all the times in the world, his mother picked this time to decide to call and lecture him.

Sky listened as his mother went on and on about him not going back home for a long time. She also demanded that he bring Nani home with him he comes home this time around. She had been demanding the same thing for months now.

"I hope you're done waiting! Last year you said you had to wait until the series finished shooting..Then you waited...and waited...It has been one year now..!" She scolded, "I just don't understand..What are you waiting for? How much longer do you have to wait?"

Sky closed his eyes, taking the scolding in, "you mean ..how much longer do you have to wait..?" Sky couldn't help but chip in a little teasing. His family, especially his mother, had been hot on his back telling him to confess to Nani ever since he told them about it a year ago, and quickly bring Nani home with him.

"Yes." His mother, replied, without any delay or guilt or shyness whatsoever, "You've been single for twenty seven years..You've been giving me a headache for twenty seven years. I can't wait for this headache to be passed to someone else...!"

"Mae...." Sky just said one line and his mother shot him with several savage lines, word after word.

"Wongravee Nateetorn..You better bring Nani home soon..He might have eyes only for you now...But who knows..One of his admirers might make a move sooner than you, and he might accept..Because you're too dim-witted and slow and nobody will wait forever..And you're not getting younger!"

"Mae-!" Sky quickly cut his mother's nagging, with a little more force this time, enough to make his mother pause. Hearing his mother talk about Nani having lots of admirers, still jabbed at his heart. He knew that Nani has lots of admirers and no matter how much he disliked it, it is what it is.

Knowing that it's one of the things that Sky hated, his mother made it as one of her key arguments whenever Sky tells her that he's still waiting for the right time to confess. What's scarier to a man in love, than having the subject of his affections being pursued by other people, right?

Well, Sky had confessed and Nani is now his; but he didn't want to tell them over the phone. He wants to bring Nani home and surprise the family, especially his mother. After enduring his mother's antics for months, it's time to silence her once and for all.
