My Only Exception

Chapter 1: Palpitations

It had been 30 minutes that Nani stared at his front door; standing in front of it, all sorts of emotions flooding him making him unable to move.

He thought that tonight, would be the night. He thought that tonight he and that 'friend' of his would finally let things out in open; acknowledging what they have. After all, it had already been months. His 'friend', was obvious with his intentions and he had been obvious in his response. At least he thought so.

Their magnetic attraction towards each other was becoming alarmingly bigger and harder to control as days went by. And it's getting harder to conceal in front of others. Well, their closest people, would have known even though they haven't really been asked about it, probably because their friends knew neither he nor that 'friend' of his had addressed their feelings openly yet. Nobody confessed yet.

And the media, the staff at work, the fans; they are like hawks with magnifying eyes, they saw every moves, every looks, every smile, every expressions, Nani and his 'friend' gave to each other, and they interpret everything according to their preference. The chemistry between Nani and his friend was said to be one of the best in the industry, not just ok screen but off screen as well. And though their series was not a romance, and they're not an official couple announced by the agency, fans still shipped them like crazy. Not that they're wrong though.

Yes. He, and his 'friend', really do have feelings for each other. He and his friend have crazy chemistry because they really do connect emotionally; and of course physical attraction cake with it. People say that he's so innocent, but he's not that dense. He's not a child; he knew exactly what it was, between he and his friend. They just haven't said it clearly to go ach other yet. Nani just had enough of it. The silent but obvious longing. He wanted to do it openly.

And though, even if they confessed to each other, they might not be able to be completely open about being together in front of the world, at the moment, but at least they would be able to discuss everything, to release their pent up emotions, and to be together comfortably behind cameras. Just the two of them. Nani really thought that they would finally do that tonight.

Today was the first day they got together after their 10 days separation. Sky went to Los Angeles for his project. And they had been missing each other like crazy the whole time. Even though they chatted every day, with Sky taking time waking up in the wee hours of the morning to have a video call with him, it was still hard on them.

Every few hours, they exchanged pictures, messages, apart from the daily video call. But nothing seemed enough. It seemed like they really cannot go on like this.

Sky arrived home at 8 in the morning today, and by 3 p.m. he was already in front of Nani's condo building with his black Merce S-Class. Nani himself who had been waiting eagerly since an hour ago, ran down to meet Sky but had to slow down just before coming out of the building. He's the cool dude, after all. Even though Sky didn't seem to buy it. The gorgeous man opened his window and threw that dashing smile of his, which never ceased to stop making his heart skip a beat, all the while looking at him without blinking until he came in and sat on the passenger seat. His seat.

"You came down running, right?" The man teased, but his eyes were full of feelings. Nani's heart skipped another beat, as he blushed but still managed his usual sulky reply, "I did not!" Which was obviously a lie. And Sky laughed, caressing Nani's face with his eyes for several more seconds before looking away, "I missed you like crazy," he said as he started driving.

Sky's tone was laced with so much emotion, unlike anything Nani had heard before. And for the first time, Nani was lost for words. He thought, finally. The day has come. Today was not going to be another one of their usual SkyNani days. Or so, he thought.
