BANG!

The Front Man's gun roared, a harsh end for Jung-bae, blood flowed on the floor. Gi-hun, rooted in place, felt icy tendrils of horror grip his heart as he watched Jung-bae's life drain away.

Front Man: "Did you have fun playing the hero?" he scoffed with a smirk under his mask and pointed his gun at number 456.

Gi-hun remained silent. His panting was the only sound that filled the room together with the background noises of the shooting in the stairwell. A heavy sweat drop was running down his forehead.

Gi-hun: "Why are you doing this to us?" he asked, assuming his end was near.

The Front Man ignored his question and ordered Gi-hun to be arrested and have Jung-bae be taken away by some guards.

Just a few seconds later, some circle guards approached the two players.

The masked guy in front of player 456 walked away with slow and steady steps heading to the control room.

Two of the guards dragged Jung-bae's body into the gift box-shaped coffin and carried him away.

The others grabbed Gi-hun on both arms, making it impossible for him to escape. Gi-hun didn't bother to try to anyway, as he knew he couldn't make it any better but only worse.

Gi-hun didn't lose his hope, though. If they would want him dead, he would've been dead by now. Why didn't he kill him? Was that part of a trick? Gi-hun kept wondering about the Front Man's plan while he was forced to follow the guards wherever they were taking him.

The stairwell felt even longer this time. Gi-hun wasn't able to recognize whether he had been there before or not. He had often gone up and down the stairs, but they still seemed extremely complicated to him.

After a while, they reached a huge iron door. It looked quite dusty. Is it that rare to enter this room? Was Gi-hun some special case to put him inside there? The winner of the fatal games was bursting with questions.

Suddenly, one of the guards took out a black spray bottle without any label and sprayed it in his face.

Gi-hun woke up in a dark room. The only light came through the gap under the door. His arms and legs were tied up with ropes, and his mouth was taped shut.

He tried not to panic and unleash himself, but without his arms, legs, or mouth, it was bitterly difficult. He tried to open his mouth despite the tape. However, it was too strong. Consequently, he was only able to open it a quarter inch. He tried to stick his tongue out to push the tape, but without any success.

He lied there for a while, overthinking his life, staring at the walls until he noticed a camera. They were watching him! Even if he tried to escape, they would notice immediately. He knew it was still worth a try, but he was desperate, as he could hardly stand up tighed like that.

Meanwhile, Jun-ho was still looking for the mysterious island. He held a map in his hands and crossed out another island dramatically with his red marker, squeaking on the paper. He sighed deeply.

It seemed impossible to find the place where the games were held, but Jun-ho was not ready to give up yet.

Jun-ho turned to the spot where the drone was usually stored.

Jun-ho: "What the-? Where did it go?"

Surprised, he started looking around to find the drone, but it was nowhere to be seen.

Jun-ho headed to the drone pilot's cabin, but he wasn't there.

Jun-ho: "Captain Park?"

Captain Park: "What's wrong, Jun-ho?" he answered, pretending not to know what he was going to ask.

Jun-ho: "You know where the drone is and where the drone guy disappeared?" he asked, dead serious.

Captain Park: "Oh, the drone is here," he pointed at it. "but it must have been damaged by water. It had very bad weather yesterday."

Jun-ho: "What about the drone guy??" he was extremely curious.

Captain Park: "Well, ... I have no idea..." he bluffed, "I haven't seen him today at all!"

Jun-ho looked at him skeptically. Captain Park tried to act innocent and ignorant, but something must have revealed he was lying. Jun-ho wasn't sure about this. It wouldn't make sense that he'd jump into the sea randomly to kill himself. He wasn't such a person, Jun-ho knew who he had been dealing with. The broken drone couldn't be a coincidence either, he thought.

Jun-ho walked around the deck with slow, heavy steps, gazing at the ground. Just as curious as he was to know more about this mystery, he was also determined to find the island.

Jun-ho: "I don't care! I will find the island no matter what! With or without drone!" he yelled with excitement.

Captain Park bit his lips. He had hoped that Jun-ho would give up after this...
