Chapter 1

The rhythmic hum of the airplane engine is heard as a bathroom door slammed opened. Revealing a woman exiting out and squeezing past, a tall and athletic Matt — navigating down the narrow aisle with practiced ease. Matt, with his distinctive chestnut hair, leaned casually against a beverage cart as he engaged in a lively conversation with a flight attendant with his flirtatious smile and relaxed posture. He smoothly tucked his phone into his pocket. "I look forward to our dinner." He charmingly declared to the flight attendant, a subtle implication of a date already planned.

The flight attendant nervously smiled and swept back her blond hair behind her ear. He returned her smile with a wink, before walking back down the aisle to his seat. He laid his head on the headrest and picked up his book.
Sleeping soundly beside Matt was Lillie. Her face shielding with her straight bob espresso color hair. The sudden, turbulence of the plane awakened her. She adjusted her eyes to the dim cabin light. After a moment of gazing nowhere in particular, she finally settled on Matt.

"Babe! I must have been really exhausted than I realized." She told him, yawning as she looked at her watch. She turned to face him.

"I really wanted you to meet my friends." A disappointing Lillie.

He looked at Lillie hesitantly for the first time and smiled.

"Maybe next time, babe." He casually lied, slightly relieved.

Daisy and Dan Knight got married fresh out of college six years ago and started their incredible journey together. They're the embodiment of love, laughter, and unwavering support for each other. The knight's home buzzed with warmth and excitement. Sunlight streamed through the large windows of their open-plan living room, illuminating the mantelpiece adorned with cherished photographs of memories of adventures shared, friendships forged, and a life vibrantly lived.
