My Only Exception

Chapter 1: Palpitations

And he had that mind set, until that fateful day, in 2022.

He had a booked job at a department store in Phrom Phong and he went there knowing he was going to be working with a certain singer/actor named Nani Hirunkit. He had the habit of learning a little bit about who he was going to be working with, so that he would be able to do his job better. When he went to Nani's IG and saw his F4 posts, he frowned.

The man is good looking but somehow seemed a little arrogant, with his stoic face and long hair tied in a pony tail. Yet, he went through Nani's IG the whole night. He even began looking up Nani's previous works; Something he had never done before. Sky realized that it was the first time that he took time to assess a 'would be' colleague so critically.

And then the day came, when they finally met. Sky froze when he saw Nani in person, he heard the sound of his heart beating so fast, for the first time. Even before Nani came to greet him, Sky could already sense Nani's aura. Completely different from what he had imagined while looking at Nani's photo online.

When they finally interacted with each other, Sky was completely hooked. For the first time in his twenty three years of age, he finally found someone he found interesting. Too interesting in fact, that his heart couldn't seem to settle normally. He was still so sceptical to call it love at first sight at that time. Though, that lasted only about several months.

Several months after their first meeting, Sky couldn't stop thinking about Nani. Yet, he didn't know how to proceed. He had never felt like this before and had never in in such situation that he really didn't know what to do. He knew, he had fallen for Nani. It might very well be a love at first sight. The very thing he thought he would never experience.

Just as he was looking for ways to meet Nani again, without scaring him away, something came up. Nadao, his former agency announced that they would cease their artists management and that all their artists will be released from their binding contract.

As much as he loved Nadao, Sky couldn't help but felt relieved. He saw this as an opportunity. This might be the chance that he had been waiting for. He planned to go and meet someone from GMMTV, but before that happened, the representative from the agency came to him first.

He came with a contract that's open to negotiation and even brought a series that they hoped he would be the main lead in if he agreed to sign with GMMTV.

Sky thought to himself, that he might really be the luckiest guy on earth, because Nani is signed by the very agency that came to him with a series. He didn't even pretend to play cool, he agreed after reading the contract and even chose his partner in the series on the same day he signed the contract.

The series; High School Frenemy. And his co-star, Nani Hirunkit Chankham.

Sky planned everything. He would let Nani get to know him better. He would deepen their understanding while filming their series. He didn't mind they started as friends. Status can change. He would make the man, fall for him. Sky, who never had a relationship in his twenty three years of age, probably had one thing to his advantage. He never experienced failed love. Hence, his confidence was sky high. He went for Nani, with all he had. And that was he did.

Who would ever think that after one and a half year of courting Nani, when he was on the verge of confessing, his confidence would collapsed? He ran away.

But after he walked out, and Nani closed the door; standing outside Nani's condo, he couldn't move. He didn't want to. What he wanted was to be inside, with the man he had been longing for, for a very long long time. They have been growing closer and closer for more than a year. He had shown his feelings to Nani, wearing it on his sleeves hoping that Nani would notice. He did, right?

Nani didn't run. Nani didn't distance himself from him. When Sky asked Nani to go out, clearly calling them dates, outside or at home, Nani never said no. And he never contradicts.

And he had been all over Nani, doing everything with him, except for kissing, he had done pretty much everything to show his feelings. Surely Nani noticed them, and he wasn't repulsed by him. If anything, Nani seemed to indulged him. The way Nani smiled and looked at him, even in front of people, and even more so when they're alone together. There are feelings and emotions in those pair of beautiful doe eyes for him.

And then, as if finally jolted to a sudden realization, Sky pressed on the doorbell and knocked on the door. He had to quickly see Nani.

And now, they are facing each other. Just inches away from each other. Sky's heart was in his mouth. He looked at Nani, the man so pretty and beautiful he makes everything else pale into comparison. The man who brought colours to his life. The man who makes him a victim of love at first sight.

Nani who was so angry a few seconds ago, froze when Sky came to stand in front of him. The taller man who's so gorgeous, he made his heart stop the moment their eyes met several years ago. And this man still constantly made him lose his breath even after they became friends for so long.

"Nani Hirunkit Chankham." With that deep masculine voice that Nani loved so much, Sky chanted his name, eyes looking straight into his, with the fire that Nani knew so well. "I like you. I love you. I want to be with you. Will you be my-"

And the next thing Sky knew, Nani was already kissing him. Sky froze, just for a second before responding with all his heart and soul. His trembling hands went around Nani, and then he kissed the man back, softly and tentatively at first and then after a minute or two, passion and urgency took over.

They didn't know just how long they stood there, in front of the door, kissing like there's no tomorrow. But when they finally broke apart, both were breathing harder than before, chest heaving, they were both flushed from the kisses. They looked at each other, deeply without flinching.

"So- " Sky began, his voice not so steady, but his tone was very clear and very serious.

Nani narrowed his eyes, as much as he admire this man, he still wants to knock his head sometimes.

"Sky Wongravee Nateetorn. If those kisses don't convince you- I don't know what will. I like you too. I love you too. Let's be together." And before the gorgeous Samoyed could speak, Nani said, "friends. Partners. Boyfriends. Lovers. Let's be everything to each other."

Sky blinked and felt something fell from his eyes. He had imagined this moments but not quite like this. Nothing prepared his heart for the flood of raw emotions the moment he heard what Nani said.

He had waited for this moment for three years.

Nani saw the tears fall from Sky's eyes, and his chest tightened, his own eyes felt warm suddenly. He smiled teasingly, "I never thought that between the two of us, you would cry first when we finally confessed.."

"I'm not ashamed. I got you don't I?" Sky said proudly, smiling amidst his tears. Nani chuckled as he wiped the tears away.

Sky felt Nani's touch, sending shivers through his body, "I finally got you..." The tears in Sky's eyes dried up as the fire lit up again.

"Can I stay the night?" Sky was looking straight into Nani's eyes, not concealing anything.

Nani gasped, and blushed fiercely, "Sky.."
