Chapter 1: Palpitations

Start from the beginning

They went to Burnt, and had their matcha, ate some dessert. Talking less but feeling more. And Nani became more and more sure.

When Sky invited himself for dinner and movie date at his home, Nani agreed with anticipation. Even though they had been to each other's condo, had dinner together and watched movies together before, this time, it really feels different.

The heavy tension, the silent emotions were thick in the air all evening.

But then, what happened? Sky suddenly said that it was getting late and he should go home???!?!? Nani seethed. After making him feel like a nervous wreck all day? The nerve of the man!?

Nani was torn, between being disappointed, angry, confused and bewildered. But mostly, he's just angry now. The giant of a man named Sky Wongravee just bolted???!?!? Nani cursed under his breath, thinking about how he would not talk to that man tomorrow. How many days should he ignore that big but cowardly Samoyed.

He just took several steps when his door bell rang and then as if that was not enough, he heard his door being knocked urgently.

He frowned. Seriously? Who is so brave to disturb him like this- in the middle of the night, and a time like this?

His thought went to Phan, his best friend who always runs to him whenever he gets angry with his parents, or has a fight with his girlfriend. Surely not????!!!

Exasperated, he opened the door, snarling, "What is it now???! Phan I swear -" Nani stopped, because in front of him was not Phan but the 6 foot and half inch Sky Wongravee; The man who had some thirty minutes ago left. And the source of his predicament at the moment.

"What are you doing here?" Nani snarled even fiercer. He had been left standing by this man at the door, and he couldn't move for thirty minutes, feeling all sorts of emotions and this man has the audacity to appear in front of him now? He felt like punching him.

"Phan- is Phan coming?" Instead of answering, Sky asked Nani a question, completely making Nani lose it.

" Sky Wongravee Nateetorn! Who would be banging on my door if it's not Phan, at this time of the night????? Why is it you??? You should have gone home by now!"

Sky understood quickly and walked in, closed the door, locking it behind him and walked quickly to stand in front of the fuming Nani. He was breathing hard. They both were. Sky with his emotions, as he was about to confess and Nani; fuming in anger.

Sky had been standing outside Nani's door, since it was closed. He had planned to stay tonight. He planned to confess, and then asked Nani if he could stay the night. But, when it was finally time to do so, his palpitating heart felt so much that he wasn't able to utter anything except, saying it's late and it's time to go home. He suddenly had the fear of hearing Nani's answer. What should he do if Nani said no? He had always been confident that Nani would agree before but, when he finally wanted to ask, his confidence dropped to the ground. He loves this man. He wants to be with this man. He never thought what he would do if he loses Nani.

Sky's sudden surge of fear, adding to the emotions he had been supressing since seeing Nani coming down to see him this afternoon made him felt faint.

His heart stopped for a few seconds, and then resumed banging on his chest like drum, when he saw Nani walking towards him, acting cool. He had the same reaction 3 years ago, when he first saw Nani in person. Something he had never felt before meeting Nani, and something he knew for sure, he will never feel for anyone else but Nani.

He was not a romantic. He never believed in love at first sight. He thought it was just not for him. He's been in the entertainment industry for years, met many beautiful people but not one managed to tug at his heart string. He only sees this industry as a work place, to make money. And to be honest, not meeting anybody who could arouse his interest did not affect him at all. After all, he's just twenty-three, what's the hurry to find someone? It's better to be single. He could do whatever he wants, go wherever he wants without the restrictions or shackles of being in a relationship.
