In a noisy classroom filled with chatter, she sat alone, lost in her doodles, unnoticed and undisturbed. But then, silence. Curious, she looked up, only to lock eyes with a senior in a white coat.
For a moment, the world around her disappeared.
Noth...
Elenna sat back down, her face burning with embarrassment. Why did I say both subjects? she scolded herself. He probably thinks I was showing off…
Prashant, their new teacher, gave a brief nod after her introduction, his expression unreadable. "Alright, let's move on," he said, shifting his gaze to the next student. Elenna exhaled in relief, sinking slightly into her chair.
The introductions wrapped up quickly, and Prashant finally spoke again. "Since this is my first class with you all, I won't jump straight into heavy topics. Instead, let's have a discussion. What do you find most difficult about this subject?"
A few hands shot up, but Elenna kept her head low, doodling in her notebook again.
"Yes, you." Prashant pointed to a student at the front.
"Memorizing diagrams," the student admitted.
"Understandable. Anyone else?" Prashant scanned the room.
Another student spoke up, "Understanding the small details in case studies."
Prashant nodded thoughtfully. "Good. Now, let’s hear from…" He paused and looked straight at Elenna. "Elenna."

Her head jerked up in shock. Why me?She hadn’t raised her hand!
She hesitated before mumbling, "Uh… I guess… the terminology?"It was the first thing that came to her mind, though she wasn’t sure if it was true.
Prashant crossed his arms. "The terminology? But you scored highest in Anatomy and Physiology, didn’t you?"
Elenna felt her classmates' eyes on her. She wanted to disappear. "Uh—yeah, but… memorizing terms is still tough," she said quickly, hoping to end the conversation.
Prashant studied her for a moment, then turned away. "Fair enough," he said simply, moving on.
Elenna sighed in relief. "Why does he keep putting me on the spot?" she wondered.
The rest of the class continued with light discussion, and soon, the bell rang. Students gathered their things, chatting as they left.
Elenna was just about to leave too when she heard his voice again.
"Elenna."
She froze. Slowly, she turned to find Prashant standing by the teacher’s desk, looking directly at her.
"Stay for a moment."
Her heart skipped a beat.
