The Present Part 7: Rejected

Natsu's pov

I sat down, my back against the door and let out a sigh. Once again tears were threatening to fall. Happy came to look at me and when he saw me like that he asked "What's wrong?", while flying in my arms trying to comfort me. "I was rejected.", I managed to get out. I felt the hairs on Happy's neck get upright. "By who?", he asked while rubbing his head against my chest "Y/n...", I whispered just loud enough for him to hear. I got up and put Happy down. I walked into the bathroom and locked the door behind me. I undressed myself and got into the shower. I just let the water stream over my body and splash on my face until I heard Happy's voice "Natsu. Are you okay. You've been in there for a while.". "I'm okay. I'm almost ready.",I said as I turned off the water and got out of the shower. I got a towel and rubbed it against my skin a bit too long 'cause my skin was starting to turn red. I took a clean pair of boxers and brushed my teeth. After that I used the toilet and went right off to bed.

Y/n's pov

The next. Irving when I entered the guild with Erza-nee I searched for Natsu. When I had found him I sat down next to him but he didn't take to me. Even Happy ignored me. "Natsu... About yesterday..." "I know already. Just leave me alone.", he said and got up. "He is just sad because you rejected him.", Happy explained "But... I didn't reject him. It was all so sudden so I just asked if I could think about it.", I said and walked up to Natsu together with Happy. "Natsu I..." "I already said you should leave me alone!", he yelled and I slapped him. He looked like he snapped out of something and held the spot where I had hit him. The guild was looking at us now so I pulled him outside. "You changed Natsu. I just needed some time to think. And, I thought about it and I. I like you too. I did before I died already. I was on my way to tell you how I felt that day. But when I came back you had grown up, you changed. And a lot of girls seemed to have taken a liking to you. I... I didn't know if I was still good enough for you.", I explained.

"That day... I was on my way to tell you how I felt too.", he said. I saw a tear in the corner of his eye slowly rolling down his cheek. I took my sleeve and brushed it away "Don't cry Natsu. I'm here for you. And I won't leave you again.", I said and he pulled me in a hug his tears running free and sobs filled the surrounding air. But I could tell he wasn't sad. He was just happy to have me here again. And now he would be able to spend the rest of his life with me just like he always wanted. He rested his head on top of mine. He sure had grown. In length and in person. He had grown up. Well, kinda. I hugged him back and saw Gray and Erza had come outside and we're looking at us. Natsu was still crying fiercely. I saw their lips curled up in a smile and they went back inside.
