4. lee hankyeong, their savior

Start from the beginning

In this timeline, she wouldn't be able to save Ms. Oh, but maybe, she could save someone else.

The next victim.

Silently questioning what she was doing here, Minju shook off her thoughts and secured the hood over her head. She turned on her heel and walked back to the path of which she came from, only to be stopped by the sound of feet against the asphalt behind her.

"They found Lee Hankyeong! We have to beat her up tonight for sure!"

A shiver ran down her spine, her back still facing the apartment building. Minju turned around, trying to look for whoever shouted what she had just heard, only to see a couple of boys running around the corner.

Lee Hankyeong?

Why would they be looking for her? This didn't happen before. She wasn't supposed to be targeted this soon.

Within the next second, Minju ran to catch up with them. They turned another corner, and Minju followed closely behind. She nearly bumped into them as they paused, staring at the scene unfolding.

Minju took a step to the side to assess the situation. Park Geonyeob, recognized by his unmistakeable Yusung High windbreaker, took on multiple opponents with a steel crowbar at hand.

And there he was, Yoon Gamin, effortlessly throwing people out of his way and breaking their weapons. Although severely outnumbered, the attackers didn't stand a chance against both of them.

Ms. Lee was in the center, face full of fear and horror as she watched the commotion. Instinct taking over, Minju walked through the fight to grab Ms. Lee.

There was some resistance before Ms. Lee actually looked at the face of who was pulling her away, and she finally relented.

Minju pulled her into a corner, checking Ms. Lee from top to bottom to make sure she was unharmed.

"Are you okay?"

Ms. Lee touched one of her slightly pink cheeks, which Minju presumed was from a slap. "I'm fine," she finally breathed out.

"She's getting away!"

Minju watched as Ms. Lee's eyes started to bulge open in shock, her mouth forming the words before she could hear them, "Behind you-"

Minju swiftly turned around to grab the leg which was aimed for her back, swinging the boy at full force and releasing him to hit and slide down the wall beside her.

Before she could comprehend what was going on, another one swung at her. This time, with a makeshift weapon.

She blocked the hit, and returned it with a punch to their gut. Minju delivered a kick to their neck, forcing their fall to the ground.

Minju must've been slacking, because she felt their weapon leave a scratch on her cheek, blood trickling down. She lifted her hand and swiped, her fingers revealing the red liquid glowing under the neighborhood lights.

As she faced the bodies she fought, a gust of wind blew her hood to fall on her shoulders, her hair blowing free, her face now exposed.

At the reveal of her identity, gasps and strings of curses sounded from her previous opponents. The fear in them only escalated, knowing that they've definitely, royally, screwed up.
