Minju's eyes snapped open. Her breaths shallow, her heart beating faster in her chest.

Just as her eyes settle on the white paint of her ceiling, Minju calmed. She slowly lifted herself onto her elbows, eyes drifting from one side of her room to the other.

It was just the same. Same as they were the night before.

She shot up from the bed to grab the phone on her desk. The date displayed read, 'Saturday, 4 April 2015.'

Double-checking just to ease the tension in her shoulders, Minju headed to the physical calendar on the table. She grabbed it, flipping through the months.

It, in fact, was still 2015.

Minju let out a breath and sighed. She settled on the chair and slowly took out a journal from one of the desk drawers. It was one of many she used to keep as a high schooler. This one's cover was black, save for the few stickers on the bottom half.

Her fingers hovered over the cover, and she pulled the elastic holding the book together, flipping it open to a blank page. She then wrote four numbers in the first line, big and centered.

'2015'

Now, what happened in 2015?

There were too many things to even start with.

Unlike the previous night, Minju found herself restless, constantly walking back and forth in her room. It was nearly 10:00 PM, and she could hear her parents speaking in the living room. Knowing leaving out the front door would pose questions, she found an alternative way to leave.

Minju pulled the hood of her jacket over her head. Sneaking out her bedroom window, she used the bricks of her house exterior to reach the ground with a thud. Minju decided a walk in the night breeze would be best to clear her thoughts.

She didn't realize she would end up here though, in front of an all too familiar apartment building. It wasn't a building Minju would ever be caught walking into. Not that it was completely run-down, it just wasn't up to, what were supposed to be, her standards. It was an ordinary apartment building, in an ordinary neighborhood.

Only, this was where the incident happened. Where a teacher had fallen to her death from their very own apartment unit, supposedly, at their own will.

After Ms. Oh Jeonghwa had passed, speculated to be under Pi Yeonbaek's command, something else had happened. Something just as horrid, but it had caused a butterfly effect that changed their lives forever.
