Minju inhaled a sharp breath in shock, "What are you saying?"

"You heard me."

"Do you even know what you're doing? It's a risky move, we can't just send the standing army to break into the prime minister's house and start a ruckus. There's police stationed all over the place, they'll never be able to make it out!"

"They don't need to make it out. All they need to do is kill him." Hanwool turned away from the floor-to-ceiling window, with the bright city lights in the night reflecting against the glass behind him. They both stood facing each other in Hanwool's office, 'Executive Director: Pi Hanwool' engraved in the name plaque on his desk.

"Are you even hearing yourself right now?" Minju ruffled her hair in frustration, "You're willingly sending them there tonight to get killed!"

Hanwool pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes for just a second, "You think I don't know that? We don't have a choice. If he speaks in the press conference tomorrow, we're done."

"YB being done is better than everyone from our army getting killed! They're just teenagers, Hanwool!" Minju pleaded, "Send a different team, anything but the standing army. They haven't even completed their training yet!"

"They were chosen because they were teenagers. They don't know any better, but they're determined. If they get caught, they'll get judged under juvenile law. Whoever orchestrates the kill gets promised a permanent high-ranking position in the YB family, so at least one of them should be able to get the job done," Hanwool responded coldly. "Besides, we were teenagers back then too, and we were fine."

He continued, "If you have such a big problem with it, bring it up to our fathers. It was their order. We sacrificed so much for YB, did you expect us to just surrender and ruin everything we just built?"

Minju was stunned in silence, and later scoffed in disbelief, "I don't even recognize you anymore, Hanwool. You said you only followed your father to protect Hansol. If only she could see you now." Hanwool clenched his jaw, but Minju continued, "What, is YB that precious to you now?"

"You're right, I changed. But the only reason I care about YB now, is because it's the only thing keeping all of us alive!" Hanwool pointed a finger at her, then at the door, "Do you seriously think, for one second, that the moment you leave YB, no one will come after you?"

"You don't think people are already coming for us because we're from YB?" Minju tried to reason, "Not to mention how living like this has been eating every one of us alive, and you know it!"

"If you wanted to walk out back then, you should've taken the chance. Why did you stay if you couldn't handle it?"

"Because I couldn't leave you here by yourself," it was on the tip of her tongue, but she swallowed back her words.
