It was Kass, she was running through a hall similar to the one I had gone down to make it to this room. She had something in her arms, it was wrapped in a blanket but I was confused to why she was running and screaming. There was nothing behind her.
I could feel my eyes bleeding with the sight. My heart stopped when I saw the vampire appear behind her from one of the connecting halls. He was beyond pissed and in a fit of anger as he smashed everything around him. He snarled and tossed her against the wall but I couldn't make out his face or who he was.
"Give him back!"
"No!" And then the bundle in her arms began to cry and I could see the small face. The man reached for him but Kass moved out of the way and held him closer to him, "No!"
The man hissed and easily grabbed Kass around the neck, lifting her up off the ground, "You're going to die over this."
She gasped and kicked as she attempted to fight him without harming or jostling the baby too much. The man squeezed and easily snapped her neck. He grabbed the baby before it fell and tossed Kass' empty and lifeless body to the ground.

My vision came back to me and I gasped, I had to get to her. Maya watched me in confusion, "What was that?"
"Stay!"
Sniffing the air, I somehow was able to find her scent. The smell of death made it so hard to track and I hoped Josh's confidence in Kendra was not miss placed. It would be hard to find us with a nest of vampires everywhere. Pushing back the thought, I ran faster. Just as the man came from the hallway, I slammed into him hard. He stumbled backward as he released his hold on Kass. She whimpered and held the baby closer.
I growled at her, "Get out of here!"
She didn't need to be told twice. She easily turned and sprinted in the opposite direction.
The man hissed, "What the hell?"
Dipping down into a defense position, I stood between him and his way to Kass. My canines elongated and nails grew with a partial transformation, this made it easier to fight vampires but not many of our kind could do it.
"Well aren't you a cute little thing."
"Leave now, and you won't die."
He laughed, "Is that so?"
"Yes." I didn't have time for this. I was too tired and my energy was being sucked from me by controlling the others.
"Fine."
He lunged at me but I easily dodged his first attack as I rolled away on the floor. He jumped up on his feet and came again. He managed to get a hold on my neck and lifted me up off the ground. Clawing at his arms, I attempted to get free. It shred his arms up but he didn't even flinch.
He tossed me deeper into the hallway and cracked his neck, "This should be fun." Snickering, he discarded his shirt and stretched out.
Standing, I pulled the shirt off and let my wolf take control. Before I even was able to toss the shirt on the ground, I burst into my wolf and thumped down on all fours.
He snickered, "Is that supposed to scare me?"
Snarling, I bared my teeth at him and took a step forward.
He held his ground and dipped low into an attack position. Leaping at me, I jumped out of the way but he was able to get a hold of my back leg and snap it. Howling out in pain, I stumbled back.
Josh pushed into my thoughts, What's going on?
Vampire attack. I shoved him out and focussed, I needed to focus.
Whimpering back, I waited for his next attack. As I expected it came quick. He moved to grab me around the neck, leaving his own exposed. I easily but painfully pushed off my back legs and grabbed him around the neck. Giving him a powerful shake, his neck easily snapped. Tossing him onto the ground, I phased back into my human form and pulled on the shirt. My claws elongated and in one quick motion, I slammed my hand into his chest and ripped out his heart. I had never done this before and it made my stomach flip in disgust. The heart beat once more and then I tossed it across the wall and turned my attention back to Maya.
Limping back to the massive room, I was surprised to find only Maya. She stood in the same spot I had told her to stay and she looked scared.
Smiling, I moved toward her, "Now that that's taken care of."
She snarled, "Stay away from me!"
"No. You killed him."
She nodded, "Well I tried to."
"No, you killed him. He was dead! No heart beat, dead!"
She smirked, "How'd that feel?"
My vision flashed back to white, "Something you will never understand."
"Just kill me and get this over with."
"No. That would be too easy for you." I stepped closer as Goddess spoke through me, "I gave you a gift. Your wolf is a part of you, a part of me, a part of this world. She was given to you as a birthright but you do not deserve her. The humanity in you is a monster and you let that control you." My vision brightened as the full force of Goddess' power found me. Every inch of my body felt as if it were on fire. Reaching out I pressed my hand to her heart, "Ad lucem."
She struggled against me but couldn't get away, "No! Stop!"
"Ad lucem."
The energy of her wolf took control of her. She shifted but I didn't falter in my movements. I easily held her down by her muzzle and kept my hand over her heart. Her wolf didn't fight me, she wanted this - wanted away from Maya.
Maya whimpered and fought with me but it was a losing battle.
"Ad lucem." I pushed harder, trying to fight back the exhaustion.
"Josie?" Josh's voice was deep and husky, startling me out of my trance.
Pushing away Goddess, I spun around in fear. My body worked without me as I whimpered and moved away from him.
He raised his hands in the air, "It's okay, it's just me."
My mind was reeling, I couldn't seem to process what was going on. Goddess needed Maya's wolf, my wolf wanted to kill her and I just wanted to curl up and sleep - my body burned and ached. The others sprinted into the room, only making matters worse. I dipped down and snarled at them in defense. Everyone froze and looked at me in confusion and worry.
My mom stepped forward, "It's us JoJo."
My mind was in defense mode. My canines sharpened and claws came out as my eyes flashed white with Goddess.
Josh moved closer, "Please Jo, come back to me."
Goddess took control of me. I turned away from him and bent back down to my knees while I pressed my hand to her chest once again. "Ad lucem!"
There was no fight left in her. A bright white light flashed as my body ignited with fire and Maya slumped to the ground in her human form - her only form now. I didn't know if the others could see it but I saw her wolf, I saw her drift up into the night sky, back to the moon with our Goddess.
Josh moved behind me, "Josie."
"Get the females. They're in the basement."
He knelt down beside me, "The others will get them."
"It's silver, help them."
He reached out to touch me but I flinched back. There were too many thoughts in my head, too much information and confusion. It didn't help I was exhausted, holding on to my sanity by nothing.
"I'll be outside." I could hear his pain from my small denial and it hurt. Reluctantly, he left - leaving me alone with myself. Tears filled my eyes and I sobbed, sobbed for everything that has happened, sobbed until there was nothing left for me to cry.
