Time skip In School At Lunch Break
Jimin sits in the cafeteria, absently stirring his food, lost in thought. His friends, Yoongi, Felix, and Jennie, exchange glances before launching into action.

Yoongi leans forward, eyeing Jimin critically. “So, what’s the plan?”

Jimin blinks. “Plan?”

Felix gasps dramatically, clutching his chest. “Hyung, tell me you’re not just waiting for him to come to his senses.”

Jennie smirks, nudging Jimin’s shoulder. “We’re saying, stop running to him. Make him feel your absence. Live your life.”

Felix grins mischievously. “And if that just so happens to make him jealous? Well…” He shrugs, feigning innocence.

Jimin frowns, but a flicker of consideration crosses his face.

Yoongi adds, his voice calm yet firm, “He rejected you, but he can’t even look you in the eye. That means something. But you’ll never get him to admit it if you keep clinging to him.”

Jimin exhales, tension coiling in his chest. The idea of pulling away, of making Taehyung chase him for once, is tempting.

Felix smirks. “And, you know, your dance partner is kind of hot.”

Jimin swats him. “Oh my god, shut up.”

Jennie winks. “I say, enjoy your life, babe. Let him deal with his own confusion.”

Jimin doesn't respond, but something in him shifts.

With Taehyung

On the other side of the cafeteria, Taehyung is restless. He keeps glancing at Jimin’s table. The way he’s laughing, the way Kai leans in to talk to him—it’s unsettling.

J-Hope waves a hand in front of his face. “Dude, where are you lost today?”

Taehyung snaps out of it, shaking his head. “Nowhere. Just thinking.”

Lisa narrows her eyes slightly. “You’re acting weird.”

Jungkook stretches. “Maybe he just needs a break. Let’s go out after school.”

Taehyung jumps on the suggestion. “Yeah. Let’s do that.”

Lisa crosses her arms. “You sure you’re not just looking for a reason to disappear?”

Taehyung glares at her. “I just need space.”

Lisa doesn’t argue, but her suspicions grow.

After School

Taehyung waits outside in his car, ready to drop Jimin home before heading to his hangout. But his phone buzzes.

Jimin: Won’t be coming home with you. Dance competition is coming up, I’m staying for practice.

Taehyung grips his phone tightly. A strange frustration coils in his chest.

He was supposed to drop Jimin home. That was their routine.

He exhales, jaw clenched. This is good. This is what he wanted. Distance.

So why does it feel wrong?

Jimin’s POV

Jimin sits at the dining table, staring at the untouched food before him. The house feels eerily quiet. Taehyung isn’t home.

He had imagined tonight differently—rushing into Taehyung’s arms after dance practice, teasing him, pressing kisses onto his cheek, maybe even sneaking in another on his lips just to watch him fluster.

But instead, Taehyung was gone.

Jimin glances at his phone for the tenth time. Still no reply. His calls had gone unanswered.

A deep sigh escapes him as he recalls what the housemaid said earlier.

"Master Taehyung is going to hang out with his friends. He told me to inform you when you arrived."

Jimin grips his phone tighter. He didn’t even text him directly.

He leans back in his chair, swallowing down the bitter feeling bubbling in his chest. For the first time since their parents left, he feels truly alone.

His friends' words replay in his mind.

"Don’t run after him."
"Make him miss you."
"Let him realize what he’s losing."

Jimin exhales sharply, his fingers curling into fists on the table. Maybe… maybe they were right. Should he stop chasing Taehyung?

Taehyung’s POV

Meanwhile, at a dimly lit lounge, Taehyung sits with J-Hope, Jungkook, and Lisa, a drink in his hand. Laughter and conversations buzz around him, but his mind is somewhere else.

He taps his fingers against the table absentmindedly. Every time his phone screen lights up, his heartbeat quickens. But he doesn’t check.

Jimin’s name had appeared multiple times before he put his phone on silent.

He can’t afford to hear Jimin’s voice right now.

The confession. The kisses. The way Jimin looked at him—so full of love, so certain. It was messing with his head.

"Hyung… you can run as much as you want, but I’m not backing down. I love you, and I’ll make you accept my love too."

Taehyung’s jaw clenches. He should be relieved. Keeping his distance was supposed to make things easier.

But then why does it feel like he left something important behind?
