Taehyung's days had become an endless cycle of school projects and company responsibilities. The weight of expectations pressed heavily on his shoulders, leaving little room for anything else.
Even though he managed to spend time with Jimin every night, it wasn't enough. Their moments together had dwindled into quick cuddles before sleep, moments Taehyung cherished but knew were far too fleeting.
Every night, he'd pull Jimin close and whisper softly, "Good night, baby brother," the exhaustion clear in his voice. But guilt gnawed at him, and he couldn't shake the thought: No matter how busy my days get, there's always a part of me that just wants to pause everything... and be with him.
Jimin, on the other hand, found himself yearning for those fleeting moments. Despite the laughter with friends and the thrill of dancing, an ache lingered in his chest. Even with all the distractions, it feels like something's missing-his presence, his warmth, he thought, clutching the small plush Taehyung had given him years ago. ******
At School Jimin's friends-Yoongi, Felix, and Jeanie-huddled around him at their usual table during lunch.
"Jiminie, you've been pouting all week," Felix teased, poking his cheek. "What's wrong? Missing your hyung?"
Jimin sighed, twirling his chopsticks. "I just feel bad. He's working so hard, and I'm just...here. I want to do something special for him."
Jeanie smirked, propping her chin on her hand. "Then do it! Make him his favorite food. You know, something sweet. Like you."
Jimin blushed, hiding his face behind his hands. "You guys are impossible."
Yoongi chuckled, leaning back in his chair. "We're just saying-actions speak louder than pouts. And don't forget, we want details when you do it."
Later that day, Jimin headed to his dance class. The studio buzzed with energy as dancers stretched and warmed up. He stepped inside, feeling the familiar rush of excitement and nerves.
"Hey there," a smooth voice called out. Jimin turned to see a tall, handsome alpha walking toward him with a playful grin.
"You must be Jimin. I'm Kai," the alpha introduced himself, holding out a hand. "I wasn't able to make it to class last week because I was on tour. But when I came back, everyone couldn't stop talking about your dance moves."
Jimin blinked, momentarily stunned by Kai's casual charm. "Oh, uh, hi," he stammered, shaking Kai's hand. "It's nice to meet you."
Kai leaned in slightly, his grin widening. "Nice to meet you too. Don't worry, I'll go easy on you. For now."
Despite Kai's flirtatious nature, Jimin couldn't help but laugh. The alpha's lightheartedness eased his initial shyness, and before long, they were exchanging dance tips and jokes.
As the class went on, Jimin found himself enjoying the camaraderie. For the first time in days, he felt lighter, as though the weight of guilt and worry had lifted-if only for a moment.
At the office one evening, Namjoon called Taehyung into the conference room to meet someone new. *******
"Taehyung," Namjoon began, gesturing toward the girl standing beside him, "this is Liza. She's the daughter of one of our business partners and will be attending your school. Help her get settled."
Taehyung nodded politely, extending his hand. "Nice to meet you."
Liza grinned, shaking his hand firmly. "Likewise. I'll try not to make your life too difficult."
Her bold and teasing demeanor caught Taehyung slightly off guard, especially when she joked, "Don't worry, I'm not here to steal your heart or anything."
When Taehyung raised an eyebrow in confusion, she chuckled. "Relax, I'm into girls. I've already got my eye on someone at your school."
Taehyung smirked faintly. "Good luck with that."
Liza winked. "Oh, I don't need luck. I've got charm." *******
Back at home, Jimin sat on the sofa, scrolling through his phone. His friends' teasing words from earlier replayed in his mind.
"You should do something special for Taehyung," Felix had said, smirking.
"Cook for him!" Jeanie had added, laughing. "That'll surprise him for sure."
Their words struck a chord, and determination flared in Jimin's chest. He pushed himself off the sofa and marched into the kitchen, where Jin was overseeing the maids as they prepared dinner.
"Emma," Jimin started hesitantly, "can I...try making something?"
Jin turned, surprised but amused. "You? Cook? This I've got to see. What's on your mind?"
"Strawberry shortcake," Jimin declared, puffing up his chest. "It's Taehyung hyung's favorite."
Jin raised an eyebrow, hiding a smirk. "Alright, let's see what you've got. Just don't cry if it turns into a disaster." *******
