Hanwool wasn't wrong. These teenagers were determined. But most of all, they were desperate. That made it even sicker.
The prime minister was nowhere in sight. She maneuvered her way from the backyard into the house, twisting arms, breaking jaws, and knocking out those who came at her with practiced ease.
As one of the men lunged at her, she swept him off his feet, grabbed his arm, and stomped on his back as she twisted his arm at a repulsive angle.
A couple gruesome screams later, she found herself in the prime minister's bedroom, watching as one of the standing army was already in there, preparing her attack.
"I have to do this."
Hansol?
"Please," the man begged. "Please stop all of this. I don't want to die." He backed himself against his bedside drawer, face fearful.
A few steps in front of him was none other than Pi Hansol, Hanwool's now 17-year-old sister. Minju watched from behind as Hansol held a knife, hands trembling as if she was hesitant.
Pi Hanwool never wanted his sister to get into the YB business, in fear of her safety. Most importantly, he didn't want her to find out how cruel and savage the world was, and how her very own family was one that caused it upon others.
She was supposed to live a peaceful childhood, without a care in the world. The deafening chaos around her was none other than background noise, easily shielded with her noise-canceling headphones. Noise-canceling headphones by the name of Pi Hanwool.
Hanwool's father promised that one day, he would send her abroad for college.
So what was she doing here?
Minju put all her questions aside, but she knew one thing for sure.
Whoever sent Hansol here sent her to die.
In the blink of an eye, the prime minister took out a revolver from his nightstand, the metal reflecting the dim light coming from the road lights outside. The gun was aimed straight to Hansol's chest, the fear on his face long gone.
In a split-second, Hansol made her decision and lunged towards the prime minister with her knife, while the man aimed and pulled the trigger.
Minju didn't bother taking a moment to think. She jumped in between them, taking fatal hits from both sides.
From the front, she felt a harsh sting from the plunge of the knife in her abdomen, and from the back, she felt the bullet pierce through her chest, blood seeping through her clothing.
"Unnie!"
The girl in front of her gasped, and she wrenched the knife from Minju's stomach. The sheer force left her to collapse onto the ground.
"Minju!"
A shout from a familiar voice rang in the background, but with her blurry vision and her brain turning fuzzy, it didn't take her long to lose focus.
Her vision turned black.
