Hacked - Part 1

Everyone got virtualised into Lyoko. And Jeremy typed furiously on his keyboard nearly typing it to death.

"Any sign of Aelita?" Ulrich asked, looking around for any mobs.

"Nope, not yet. Just give me a minute." Jeremy replied.

Ulrich gathered up the gang, giving each of them specific instructions.

Within a matter of seconds, they dispersed.

"Jeremy, Yumi and Jenny will head to the nearest Tower to see if they can track Aelita down while Odd and I will check the perimeter." Ulrich said while sprinting across the field alongside Odd.

"Good idea. XANA's giving me a hard time to find Aelita, I just might have to count on you guys to find her." Jeremy furrowed his brow, getting even more frustrated by the second.

For some reason, Jeremy can't detect any sign of Aelita's presence on Lyoko. And that reason is: XANA.

"Jeremy any sign of mobs anywhere?" Odd asked, getting his laser arrows ready.

"I- *buzz* tho- *buzz*"

"Jeremy? I can't hear you! We're losing you!"

"We- *crack* *buzz*"

"Jeremy? Jeremy!"

No answer.

"Great! We just lost contact with Jeremy!" Ulrich punched a barrier that appeared out of nowhere.

Wait, why is there a barrier and how did it get there?

"Okay, Yumi just stand there. It'll get messy." Jenny said as she raised both her hands up in the air and in just a flash, floating screens were swirling around her.

Yumi couldn't believe what she was seeing. Aelita had never been able to do this before and Jenny was. Why? How? These questions just keep piling on top of each other.

"Oh no." Jenny gasped.

"What?" Yumi stepped forward, getting ready to strike or run.

"XANA has hacked into Lyoko. No one can undo this from the outside."

"What?!"

"The only way we can undo XANA's hack is to do so at Lyoko's core."

"What do you mean by, 'Lyoko's core'?"

"Lyoko has a core that none of you seen before. The only way to get there is to force open a portal through this tower."

"I don't get it. There's a core we haven't seen before and we need to force open a portal? None of this makes sense Jenny! And how would you know all of this?!"

"Just now. Look, we need to get Ulrich and Odd back before it's too late. If XANA has taken control of Lyoko it won't be long before XANA sends even more powerful mobs than before to attack you guys."

Yumi took a step back.

It's almost impossible to sink everything in. So many questions, so less answers.

"Hurry! We've already lost contact with Jeremy so we can't do anything anymore! Go get them back before it's too late!"

"Too late?"

"They'll die. For real!"

It was like deja vu all over again. There used to be this moment when all of them would die in Lyoko, but thanks to Jeremy, they were okay.
