Chapter 9 Worries

*a few days go by and the crew is at Diego's house*

"Wow who would have that doing gigs would be so fuckin awesome with you two I see you two got a house now" Anna said smiling putting her revolver away "You get used to it whatever that gets us eddies and keep us going however I heard there's a race that's happening two days from now thanks to Claire remember she's the bartender at the afterlife" Diego said as he was working on his car to make sure it was ready for the race. "Diego I need to talk to you like now" Quartz said as she was wearing Diego's leather jacket putting some water on the table for him "Què pasa (What's up) Quartz is something wrong" Diego said putting his tools down wiping the grease off his face "Remember that night after that one gig we did together and we had one to many to drink" Quartz said as she sat down drinking some water "Yeah I remember that night still haven't forgotten about it what happened that night that you can't forget" Diego said as he closed the trunk of the car. "If been feeling sick after that night and a lot of mood swings like way more different" Quartz said with a serious face "Wait please don't tell me that you are pregnant because if you are your going to have to take a break from the gigs" Diego said with confusion in his voice as he continued to work on the car however Diego was concerned about Quartz because he did noticed that she wasn't feeling that well.

*Few minutes go by*

Diego decided to make some food for the girls as which he decided to make steak with some vegetables "Dinner will be ready in a couple of minutes" Diego said as he put on some music to try to go with the flow while cooking. However Quartz and Anna were talking about what happened earlier "Do you think he knows now that he knows about what happened at night or whatever you said" Anna said as she drank some water as Quartz looked at her "He probably already knows however I can't go on this race with him so you have to besides I've seen the way you shoot your accuracy is surprisingly good" Quartz said as she sipped on some cola. Deigo managed to get done with dinner as served the girls and he couldn't help, but ask Quartz "About what you said are you pregnant because you keep bringing up the past however we need to focus on the present and how we are going to win this race" Deigo said while eating his steak "Anna is going I mean you've seen her accuracy it's good plus her weapons of choice is surprisingly awesome and deadly" Quartz said while eating her food.

Once night had fallen Diego decided to shower to get the grease off his face after working on the car he couldn't help, but question what Quartz said "Remember that night after that one gig we did together and we had one to many to drink" however Diego just shook it off "She can't be pregnant if she is that means we won't be able to do any gigs however I'll take that break to be there for her" Diego said to himself as he got out the shower dried off and put on his sleep wear. Quartz noticed him "Hey Diego can I talk to you it's about the race Claire mentioned that is happening in a few days" Quartz said as she hugged deigo from behind then planting a kiss on his cheek causing him to blush "What about it and besides Anna is a good sharpshooter and undercover person" Deigo said giving her a kiss back causing her to also blush as well however that didn't show how deep their love was. "Quartz is it true I mean the mood swings you getting sick you sure you are feeling okay I mean I worry about you ever since I rescued you from the Valentino's pinche pendejos (fucking idiots)" Deigo said looking out the window seeing the neon color lights of night city "Diego mi amor (my love) I should be honest with you when you save me the Valentino's I was stuck in that netrunner chair it made me sick and it my netruning stuff better however that night was like a night I couldn't forget after that I felt sick then I took a test and it came positive" Quartz said not knowing that she had to get that off her chest. "So you are pregnant why didn't you tell me" Diego said feeling Quartz stomach "I felt scared I thought you weren't ready to have a kid or maybe just not be there because you'll get flatlined on a gig and I'll have to take care of our child" Quartz said looking away from him with tears coming down her cheek "I would be there for you no matter what especially for our child if any of that happens I would send my eddies to you so you can take care of our child" Diego said as he laid down looking at Quartz as she hugged him "I Love you Deigo I'll always cherish our times if you ever flatline" she said as started to fall asleep.

Deigo laid down next to Quartz and kissed her good night as he thought about what she said "I felt scared I thought you weren't ready to have a kid or maybe just not be there because you'll get flatlined on a gig and I'll have to take care of our child". However Diego told himself "I promise I'll be alive for you and our child I'll take it to my grave" as he decided to close his eyes and get some sleep so he can get the energy for tomorrow to fix the car for the race even if it means he allowed Anna to hack the cars that going to cause problems during the race.
