Chapter 4 Take action

Once morning arrived and Diego was the first one awake as decided to make himself coffee with some scrambled eggs for breakfast while he noticed that Quartz was still sleeping as he continued to make breakfast however he made a cup of coffee for Quartz just in case if she wanted some coffee. "Last night was just nothing just don't think about it Diego today is a new day today we go to maelstrom and off them" Diego said to himself as he noticed Quartz was awake as she called out to him "I'm down here Quartz just decided to make breakfast eggs with coffee if your a coffee person" Diego said as he started eating breakfast "Thanks I could go for some coffee and some eggs" Quartz said as she sipped on the coffee. "So the gig or job you ready for it hey do you have coffee creamer specifically vanilla cherry" Quartz said as finished her eggs and continued to sip on her coffee Diego handled her the coffee creamer as he nodded then went to put on his merc outfit which he normally wore regular pants a black shirt that had a samurai symbol on it and put on his favorite sneakers as he styled his hair to make sure he didn't have bed head.

Diego asked Quartz if she had an outfit for today since he thought she would wear a netrunner outfit since she was a netrunner after all however she decided to put on some purple pants with some black boots a chest piece only showing her stomach and a small coat which had a cherry blossom tree on the back. "You have a good sense of style Quartz" as Diego checked and see if he had some ammo for his pistol "Thanks Diego I can say the same thing with you" Quartz said as she saw Diego heading to his car heading to the meeting "So how do we attain this satara with automatic lock-on dragons breath" Diego said as he started the car "Oh let's just say I *pulls out the satara* have it in a weapon briefcase so yeah we already to go" Quartz said as she smiled letting out a smile laugh. Once both Diego and Quartz arrived at maelstrom hideout a couple of maelstrom members stopped them "Hey you two shouldn't be here this is our territory" One maelstrom member said looking at them a serious face "We are here to see viper we have his gift that he wants" Diego said as he had his arm ready to pull out his pistol then they heard a voice over the speaker telling them to come through "Well looks like today is your lucky day just don't cause any trouble or else" the maelstrom member said he went back to having a smoke.

Once both Diego and Quartz were in the hideout they both scanned the area seeing CCTV cameras as Quartz decided to turn them off without raising suspicion causing Diego to look at Quartz and give a nod as they continued to the meeting. "Sit after all your guests here *huffs dorph* ahh that's the good shit want to try some" the maelstrom member said offering to Diego "What's that" Quartz said with a confused tone "Dorph a combat drug endorphins reduce pain and stress effects allows you to reduce the effects of stun or shock" Diego said still looking at the maelstrom member who was still offering the drug "You know your drugs I like you haha so you wanna try" the member said. "Nah not really besides I'm only here for Viper is he here" Diego said as he saw one big maelstrom member who looked like the guy that both Quartz and Diego came to see it was Viper "So your the ones that we are making the deal with" Viper said looking at both Diego and Quartz with a serious face "Yeah we got your satara with automatic lock-on and dragons breath also you got something in return Viper" Diego said looking around as a couple of maelstrom members were by them like they wanted a shoot out.

"I see you got the satara now I want double the price" Viper said with a cheeky smile "What the fuck we agreed to the normal price Viper you can't double it" Diego said as stood up grabbing him putting his pistol to him. Right as Diego did that the other maelstrom members pulled out their weapons as well as Quartz readied her monowire waiting for Diego to give a signal which he did pulling the trigger on Vipper causing his head to explode "You bastards" the members said right as they were to slow to the trigger because Quartz used her monowire to swiftly cut their arms off so they couldn't try and kill them while also doing a short circuit. "Quartz RUN" Diego said as he ran shot back at the maelstrom members who were shooting at the both of them as a grenade blew up next to a couple of explosives causing Quartz to get blasted away then landing on top of Diego who was still shooting at the maelstrom members however he dragged Quartz to cover as he thought of a way out of the hideout "Hang in there Quartz" Diego said as quickly he noticed a rooftop exit and he made his way over there running and shooting the maelstrom members as Quartz tried to help with her mano wire.

Once both Diego and Quartz made it to Diego's car and he put Quartz in the passenger side of the car with Diego getting on the driver side and he sped off getting away from the hideout and checking their back to make sure no maelstrom members were following them. Quartz looked at him then started to laugh which Diego looked at her with a confused look "What's funny why are you laughing" Diego said as he pulled into a parking structure. "That was crazy, but amazing woohoo haha I've never been so alive haha" Quartz said with excitement and Diego couldn't help, but start laughing as well "That was insane however fun also amazing stay here I'm going to get something" Diego said as he got out of his car and head to his apartment to get something after a few minutes Diego noticed Quartz was smoking a cigarette and wondered if she was doing alright. "Hey Quartz you ok" Diego said in a concerned voice causing Quartz to look at him with her cigarette in hand "Yeah just never had this much fun before since my old crew either died went MIA or just stopped talking since I met you it's different" Quartz said as she put out her cigarette and got back into the car "We are going to an old spot where I used to club at to celebrate and enjoy" Diego said as he started the car and sped off to the club Diego was talking about.
