Chapter 6 Job from the NCPD

After Diego's and Quartz little celebration Diego woke up seeing Quartz laying there by his side with barely anything on as he got up and put on some gym clothes on to go on for a jog "Did I get laid last night man who would have thought" Diego said to himself as he went to ground level to start his jog. However while starting the jog and not less than 10 minutes Diego noticed a NCPD car pulling right up next to him "I have my hands up I didn't do anything wrong" Diego said as he slowly turned around "So your the Diego Flores you're not under arrest and no one I'm going to take you in even though your record is pretty good like theft, illegal protests and vandalism" the NCPD officer said "What do you really want with me" Diego said in is serious tone well also looking at the officer. "We need you for a job and it requires someone with your expertise yeah that's the word to deal with a couple of corrupt people oh by the way the name is officer Joey" officer Joey said "why does the NCPD need to do their dirty work do they not know who they are" Diego said confused "It's because we don't know who they are, but we do know it's part of the NCPD and a few political people who want Night City to have more crime and so us badges will have to do more dangerous work and more innocent people would get caught up in the crossfire" officer Joey said.

"*Sighs* What do you want with me then" Diego said giving the officer a serious look "I need you to rescue my sister's daughter she bit of a rebel like she would want to work with a merc type of rebel" officer Joey said wiping her tears away knowing he would lose another family member soon "Huh simple rescue mission who could have taken her because I need details" Diego said. "The moxes have her can't believe it so I'm officially the worst uncle" officer Joey said to himself "Whoa there hermono (brother) don't call yourself that I know what it's like to have someone be taken away it's hard because I have been down that road before it made me regret it however I will get her back to you no matter what it takes" Diego said overing his hand to shake and officer Joey shook his hand "I give you permission to either knock them out or kill him I'll make sure the NCPD are aren't on your tail also I don't know if you need the Eddie's or not but just to let you know your file I'll make sure it's erased" officer Joey said as he got into his police cruiser and drove off as Diego head back to the apartment to inform Quartz on the mission.

*Diego gets back to the apartment*

Diego noticed that Quartz just woke up as he went to her "Hey Quartz how did you sleep because I slept pretty good actually" he said to her as she quickly noticed herself and covered herself in the sheets "Fine I feel like we both had a lot to drink last night" Quartz said as she grabbed her bra and put on her shirt then put on the rest of her clothes. "Hey I got another gig for us this time it's from NCPD officer We have to rescue his sister's daughter from the moxes" Diego said as he went to bathroom to fix his hair and his his curly hair Quartz appear behind him with a disgust look on her face "A gig from the NCPD seriously why from them of all people You know those guys are not all protect and serve" Quartz said all upset the fact that Diego accepted the gig without even thinking of the consequences. "It's a child Quartz or family member I'm not going to pass that up I'm not going to sit back and let that officer's niece die in the hands of the moxes because that's how I lost my only cousin" Diego said as he sighed the fact that he had to bring that up from his tragic past "Oh I'm really sorry to hear about that but did he mention where If not then I overheard some moxes about the potential location called clouds I used to work there and now I hate it" Quartz said ballin up her fist as she went to shower and Diego waited for her to get ready for the gig.

*A few minutes goes by*

Diego ended up waiting for Quartz in his car while jamming out to Lizzy wizzy as he noticed Quartz coming to his car wearing some new netrunner gear "Seriously at a time like this" Quartz said as she got into the car and Diego turned off the radio and headed to clouds. "You said you worked there why in the hell would you work there at clouds" Diego said confused as you continued to drive to clouds "I worked there as a bartender all right then eventually became a netrunner because I thought I would be making more money surprisingly I was however I could tell something was wrong with the employees the dolls looked like they haven't slept or had barely any repaired to their cyber wear" Quartz said. She looked out the window not wanting to speak about clouds as they reached the mega building they found the spot to park however they need to think of a plan in order to rescue officer Joey's niece "So what's the plan cuz obviously we can't go in guns blazing otherwise we both will get killed" Diego said as he was thinking about the plan "You go in they suspect me or they see me I'm dead anyway because they have some unfinished business with me" Quartz said as she looked at him however Diego started getting nervous since he never thought he would have to go into clouds.

In the end Quartz had to make him quiet or shut up by kissing him with made him shocked again since that time at that club "Just go you idiot also that kiss from the club and now it's a sign of me being with you all right just go I'll hack into any cameras along the way" Quartz said to Diego as she connected to the nerolink and Diego headed up to clouds ready to rescue officer Joey's niece "All right" Diego said as he entered the elevator heading to clouds.
