After dinner, Shruti couldn't contain her excitement as she spoke about the people supporting her online. Her words were like bursts of sunshine, radiating warmth and joy.
Watching her so cheerful, a small, unnoticed smile quietly crept onto Dheeraj's lips, a rare moment of tenderness breaking through his usually composed demeanor.
"Well, no need to thank me," Kiaan announced dramatically, straightening his back as if he were the unsung hero of the hour.
Shruti and Ruhanika exchanged puzzled glances. "Did you... somehow manage to get Aaron Warner for me?" Shruti asked with a playful glint in her eyes.
Kiaan blinked, utterly confused. Shaking his head, he opened his mouth to respond, but Shruti cut him off.
"Wait! Don't tell me... you got Kenji Kishimoto instead?" She leaned forward, her excitement bubbling over.
Kiaan groaned, his patience evaporating. "Who the hell are Arun and Kenjimoto?" he exclaimed, his irritation sharp enough to slice through the air.
Shruti gasped, placing a hand over her heart in mock offense. "Excuse me! It's Kenji Kishimoto! Mr. Kenji Kishimoto to you and that's Aaron Warner!"
Ruhanika couldn't help herself; a laugh bubbled up, soft and melodic, as she watched the two bicker like squabbling siblings. But then her gaze shifted, and she noticed something—Dheeraj.
He wasn't just smiling this time; he was watching Shruti with an intensity that was hard to decipher, his eyes carrying something deeper, something unspoken.
Shruti, oblivious to Dheeraj's gaze, crossed her arms and tilted her head. "If you didn't do any of that, why the hell should I thank you?"
Kiaan smirked, his mischief barely contained. "You checked your followers and comments, but did you check on those lovely friends of yours who've been abusing you online?"
Shruti's playful demeanor faltered, her eyes widening in alarm. She glanced at Ruhanika, who nodded solemnly. Fumbling with her phone, Shruti began scrolling. What she saw made her gasp and freeze in place.
Their pages were filled with scandalous, cringe-worthy photos—images that made her stomach churn and her cheeks blaze red. The audacity, the absurdity, the sheer ick of it all! She shut her phone with a snap, almost as if she wanted to trap the monstrosities inside.
"Did you do this?" Shruti's voice trembled as she looked at Kiaan. Kiaan grinned, looking far too pleased with himself, and nodded proudly.
"But... why?" she asked, utterly bewildered.
"Why?!" Kiaan rolled his eyes like she'd asked the most obvious question in the world. "They were talking crap about you, so I just leaked their dirty DMs. You're welcome." He added an innocent shrug, though the glint of mischief in his eyes gave him away.
