Unmasked: Interlude

Hi, this is chapter 11.5 so if you want to skip it, go on ahead. This is just what was going through Ben's mind when they decided to ask Alicia if she wanted to join their game

Ben POV

"Hey Ben, have you seen Alicia come out of Kage's room?" Jeff asked as our game ended

"No why?"

"I am worried."

"Jeff, don't tell me you have a crush on the little human too." Jack groaned

"Can it Chuckles, we are just friends."

"Drat! The proxies and I are all placing bets on who she'll end up with." Jeff rolled his eyes

"Hey Ben, is it okay if she comes over?"

"No way Jeff! No girls allowed in the man cave." Jack huffed

"I'm fine with it. How about Halo?" I suggested

"Is no one listening to me? And how are you going to convince her to play? It's not like Halo needs four players."

"Jack shut up it's just an excuse." I scolded. In all honesty I was worried too, Kagekao was always so withdrawn until he met her. If she lost her spark then he would too. Standing up I walked to Kage's room and rapped on the door.

"Hey Alicia, you seemed free and Chuckles, Jeff and I needed a fourth player." I blurted out when I saw her and after clarifying that Chuckles was Jack, I found myself seated next to her in my room. Even after lunch we kept playing until she left.

"Wow Chuckles, you actually let her see you get serious." I laughed at him

"Yeah well, I admit, she's easy to be around." He said sharpening his nails.

"So which kid are you off to torment tonight?" I asked

"Probably either that James kid or the punk Nelson who has been bullying him. The only qualm I have against messing with James though is that he's got older siblings. Those just make things messy. What about you Jeff?"

"I am just going to wander around I guess." He told the clown as I checked my window

"Alright, it's last light now get out, I'm going to work."

"Yeah, yeah, you stalking people on the Internet is not work." Jack laughed as he went off to go murder some kids. Cracking my knuckles I logged on to my computer in search of my first victim.

STORY FUN FACTS:

These are some of the story concepts I came up with to help shape the characters

1)     Alicia Jones is half Columbian.  No I didn't make this up just now, it's subtle but if you read carefully there are some hints.

2)     Alicia is not an only child.

3)     Despite already knowing how to read Jeff has been working on his own vocabulary. He also doesn't use any sort of slang

So yeah, they kill. It's their job. Please leave a comment to let me know how I'm doing and whether I left any plot holes   :-)
