chapter 14, always.

He ends up plopping right next to me and we gaze at each other before pressing our bodies against each other and letting our lips lock together. His hand cups my face while the other grips onto my waist, while my hands are on his head, pushing him closer to me. My heart is thumping in my chest, echoing throughout my body, while my palms begin to sweat furiously against Kwon's palms. The kiss is passionate, time-consuming and tender and most definitely a long-awaited kiss. As we share this warm yet hungry kiss, the waves calmly brush over us.

Me and Kwon then end up talking about a variety of things.

"Ten things I hate about you is the best movie ever."

"Never watched it."

"How? Just how. It's the best movie to ever exist in cinematic history, Kwon."

"My favourite American movie is most definitely Scarface."

"Never watched it, heard of it, but seems boring."

"It's a masterpiece, Kiara."

"I remember when I first laid eyes on you." Kwon blurts, turning to look at me.

"Tell me about it."

KWONS POV:
"We had just entered the arena, ready for the Sekai Takai, we were then opposite your team. I didn't think much of it at first, but then realised that was the team Tory formally was in. I then felt a pair of eyes on me and I turned to see you, the most beautiful woman I had ever laid my eyes on gazing at me. You, out of all people, thought I was good looking? I couldn't help but smile. You looked away so quickly when we locked eyes and I found it adorable. I found everything about you perfect and I barely even knew you, and I was determined to get your attention. The more I knew about you, the more I liked about you."

BACK TO KIARA'S POV:

"You're so adorable." My smile grows wider and wider the more he tells me and I proceed to smother him with a series of kisses on his face, causing him to chuckle and have a pink tint flush onto his cheeks.

"I was raised with a single mother, my father died while my mother was pregnant, she never told me how he died. Then she ended up getting stabbed and in the hospital before she died, she told me to make sure I know how to fight in a world like this and I took it literally and joined Cobra Kai as that was the only place at the time that would teach you how."

"Oh wow, I can see why youre in Cobra Kai then, for your mom, that's nice."

"How'd you end up in Miyagi Do?"

"Me and Sam are childhood best friends, Daniel, Sam's dad, convinced us to do a few karate lessons with him and my parents noticed I was really good and saw my potential so after he stopped teaching us, my parents enrolled me in a dojo called Topanga Karate, I even won a championship, then Cobra Kai opened but forbid I join my parent's best friend's enemy's dojo, when Miyagi-Do opened up in spite of Cobra Kai, my parents enrolled me immediately and ever since then I've just been at Miyagi-Do, training hoping to win the Sekai Takai."

"Wow, that's definitely a reason."

"I mean, around middle school, I took a hiatus from karate."

"Middle school?"

"When I was 13 years old, grade 7."

"Ah, I see. Why did you take a break?"

"My grandpa died from a terminal illness and it felt like my world had just ended and I let it take over my life, the thing that really got me is the fact that I'd have to continue life without him and it's like a part of me died with him. We were quite close and he lived with me and my parents, he was just starting to get better as-well."

"I get what you mean, Kiara."

"Want me to tell you some of the drama that happened in the past year?" I blurt abruptly.

"Why not?"

"Miguel and Tory used to date at the same time Sam and Robby did but before that it was Miguel and Sam together but I ended up kissing Miguel at a party then Sam and Miguel kissed at the same party and Tory found out their kiss and went ballistic on Sam and I and then Miguel fell off a balcony and broke his back, which caused him to go into a coma leaving Sam to feel immensely guilty. Then, Sam and Miguel got back together eventually and then somehow Tory and Robby got together and now Miguel and Robby are probably gonna be step brothers since our sensei, Johnny, who is Robby's dad is dating Miguel's mum, Carmen, who's pregnant."

"You kissed him then your best friend did? What?" He looks completely lost and puzzled.

"Before him and Sam got together for the first time, I had a crush on him. Then Sam and him got together and I obviously respected that because I'm not that kind of girl to make a move on someone's boyfriend."

"But Miguel was Tory's boyfriend when you kissed him, correct?"

"Well, yes." I sighed.

"But he kissed me first and I was a bit tipsy, not completely drunk but I wasn't thinking entirely straight. It was consensual, though. But that kiss made me realise I got romantic feelings mixed with platonic and Miguel felt the same as well and well Tory found out, I still have no idea how. Word must have gotten around somehow, then the school fight happened. She attempted to attack me but I blocked everything, then she pulled out her spiked bracelet and I have a not-to-noticeable scar on my back."

"Oh wow, she did that?"

"Yeah, but it was a little less than a year ago now. She's really changed now but it was wrong for me to kiss Miguel, I've apologised to her."

"Nothing interesting goes on in my dojo, except when Kreese came and eventually Tory, but she never talks to us. She's just reserved and clearly doesn't wanna train with us. Other than that, it's just intense training all day long."

"Yet I'm still a better fighter." I arrogantly beam.

"Oh really?" He turns to look at me, his thumb softly brushing against my cheek, his warm touch sending electrifying shivers through my body.

"Really." I kiss him, making our lips meet. Every kiss is the exact same like the first one, it's like the world stops. It's a short and sweet kiss but still is everything.

"What's your favourite part about Barcelona so far?" I inquire to him.

"The cityscape, it's mesmerising, I could stare at it forever." He replies, unknowingly to me, he doesn't take his eyes off me while saying that and he isn't talking about the cityscape.

"My favourite is definitely the attractions, they're so nice. I'm hoping to visit them all before we leave." I reply, while staring at the beach.

"What's your favourite thing about California?"

"Probably the food, what's your favourite thing about Korea?"

"My dojo."

"Of course it is." I jokingly reply.

"Our lives are so different." He murmured, gazing at the stream.

You have all of these people in your life. I don't really have anybody." He adds, avoiding my fixated look on him.

My expression drops, I go to reach for his hand, feeling the tension and loneliness inside him.

"You might not have a lot of people in your life, but that's fine. People will come in your life eventually and you will always have me."

"Always?" He immediately glimpses at me vulnerably.

"Always." I beam a gentle, compassionate smile.
