We're all standing in the Sekai Takai arena again.
I can feel Kwon's eyes on me, but now that we're actually about to have our first ever round, I'm gonna ignore it for now and focus on my fights.
"Welcome to our first event, I hope you're all well rested and ready for a new and unique competition. We call it the Captains War. We told you that your captains will be quite important, so let's see how well you protect them. Four dojos will take the mat, one left standing." The same announcer from yesterday announces, in a fancy suit.
"If you hit the mat, you're out. Your captain hits the mat, your whole team is out. Check the boards to see your group, decided randomly by draw. Group A, you're up."
I scan the board to see Group A, it reads "Falchi Della Notte", "Iron Dragons", "Miyagi Do" and "Cobra Kai". Of course it just had to say Cobra Kai. What are the odds?
Kwon looks over to the board, then to me and smirks. I roll my eyes but still smile at him, he seems taken aback that I actually smile at him, not in a sarcastic way, a genuine smile. I'm actually taking my own advice, but I'm still gonna focus on karate.
"Let them come to us, protect the egg. Make sure Sam & Robby are safe." Miguel says and we all nod.
"I can be on the frontline." Robby replies.
"No, just stay back and stay focused." Miguel states.
"Why wouldn't I be focused?" Robby snaps.
"You did leave the hotel room last night."
I turn to look at Robby. Damn, he's head over heels for Tory, lucky girl.
Daniel's just giving us a pep talk and encouraging us to try our best, I nod and smile. I'm drowning out everything he and Sensei Lawrence are saying, I just wanna win this.
"Ready? Begin!" The announcer yells.
Tory barges her way through her group and runs towards us and does a kick, giving her team no choice but to follow her. Kwon immediately kicks Demetri onto the floor, afterwards he gives me his significant smug smirk and I roll my eyes and look away.
"Protect Sam!" Daniel yells, I rush over to Sam and help her fight against another Cobra Kai, I kick him in the back aggressively from behind and he turns around, nearly losing his balance, fighting both me and Sam at the same time.
The guy attempts to do a flying air kick on Sam but misses, he keeps punching and Sam is blocking all of them. I then spot a another girl from Cobra Kai fighting Devon, I catch her off-guard and sweep her, causing her to lose her balance and fall to the ground.
I then go back to Sam and the guy he's fighting, I catch him from off guard and go to chop his back. In response, he groans in pain. I attempt to try and sweep him, but he manages to dodge.
Suddenly, the guy grabs me and slams me onto the ground and I'm out.
But he threw me on the ground so aggressively my head started pounding, Kwon yelled something at him in korean and the guy replied back clearly annoyed.
"I am sorry for throwing you so hard." The guy smiles, clearly a fake smile, and continues to fight Sam.
No way he just got that guy to apologise to me. It's kinda cute but I can defend myself thank you. I walk over to the sidelines and watch the group with Demetri. Right after I walk over to the sidelines, Hawk also gets kicked onto the ground and is out.
Now we're watching Kwon and Robby fight, captain vs captain and I already know Kwon's trash talking as Robby looks pissed because of the way he's clenching his jaw.
Kwon goes in got multiple strikes that Robby defends, then I watch Tory and Sam. Tory is defending all of Sam's kicks and punches, then my eyes go over to Miguel. Someone attempts to catch him from behind and he kicks them, causing them to nearly fall. I can't keep up with all the fighting, but to me Kwon and Robby's fight is the most intense, so I'll just try to pay attention on that.
Robby punches Kwon and then he gets distracted, looking at Tory fighting. No Robby no, look away from her, you can talk to her later. Kwon takes advantage of this and has Robby in a chokehold that Robby desperately tries to get out of, he succeeds but Kwon carries him and slams him onto the floor.
"Captain down. Miyagi Do is out." The announcer announces.
"Too easy, man. Come on." Kwon stares at Robby and laughs. I then flip him off and he laughs even harder, which just pisses me off so I stop looking at him.
We then watch the Iron Dragons and Cobra Kais fight. All 6 Iron Dragons are still somehow standing, but it's just Kwon, Tory and the guy who got Hawk out.
The front line does some weird stance and walk off, revealing a short girl with some very noticeable eye makeup and a tall boy with a straight face. They have a very noticeable height difference but both have no expressions on their face.
They walk towards the trio. Tory goes for the girl and the boys go for the guy. Tory charges at the girl and Kwon does a kick, the tall guy immediately gets Kwon and Tory's teammate out. So much is happening at once for me to keep up. But I saw the short girl slam Tory down and both captains are out.
"Iron Dragons win!" The announcer cheers.
Kwon looks pissed, his jaw clenching and he angrily stares at the tall boy who slammed him down.
We lock eyes and I start chuckling at his loss, considering how confident he was when he got Robby out, he rolls his eyes but his eyes somewhat soften when we make eye contact for a while.
I clear my throat and look away, making eye contact with him when he looks at me like that feels like a bunch of fireworks are blowing up in my stomach.
i genuinely suck at writing fight scenes and i feel like i nerfed kiara soo bad, i apologise for not having any kwon interactions in this chapter it was more a filler chapter, but trust me it'll be worth it soon 👀
would you guys rather i go into less detail and nerf kiara less (she should be doing somewhat better than she is considering she's been training for yeaars) or more detail and keep her nerfed? because im so bad at writing fight scenes and i do not know karate moves at all
alsoo can i know what timezones you guys are in because i wanna know when i can accordingly release chapters so its more convenient for you guys!!
