Then, my phone buzzed, a message from Kwon that read "You should give me your number.".
I opened it and swiped off, feeling strong animosity because of this betrayal, I decide to take a quick chilled shower.
As the cold shower water runs through my body, I begin to wonder why I feel so affected by this.
The last time I found out someone I kinda romantically liked was playing me, I cared less. Why was this affecting me so much?
I then stepped out of the shower and took off my shower cap, I then tied a towel around myself and sat on the closed toilet lid, pondering for a few minutes, waiting for myself to dry, I then begin to dry my hair.
After 6 or so minutes, I then go to my already ironed karate gi and put it on, tie my hair in a neat and compacted bun, I just washed my hair this morning. I refuse to make it greasy with gel.
I then swiftly head down to the arena as I'm nearly late.
"Just on time, Chopra." Sensei Lawrence states sternly, not glancing at me.
He's never been really fond of me, he's an interesting one but he's hilarious. Him and Daniel's bickering never fails to make me die.
"We have now entered the elimination phase of the Sekai Taikai." The announcer announces, with solemn in her voice.
"The dojos who do not win tonight will be headed home. The previous rounds have determined your current rankings. The number 1 team will face the number 16 team. The number 2 team will face the number 15 team, and so on and so on." She adds.
I skin and scan the board, looking for our team.
"That means at number 12, we are facing number 5, which is Dublin Thunder." I remark to our team.
"Oh, great. I heard they started a fight with some locals on the beach. They're always looking for a brawl." Hawk adds, with a mix of exasperation and anxiety in his voice.
We look over to their team, orange gi's with black ties, they seem to be quite hyper about this. I notice a boy with dark curly brown hair stare at me and wink. I glare at him with repulse; not bothering to hide my disgust. I feel like I'm about to throw up if I stare at him any longer, ew.
"Now, for the rules of the event. Fighters will again face on a platform. This platform." She points over to a mechanical platform that's somewhat high up in the air.
"But this time, two fighters from each dojo are allowed at one time." The announcer announces, then the alarm blares loudly, echoing throughout the whole arena.
"If one of your fighters fall, they are out. But another teammate can climb up to take their place. However, the fight never stops."
"So get up quickly to not leave your teammate alone in a two-on-one fight." She replies to herself.
"When all the fighters of a dojo have been knocked off, the team is out."
The tall guy from Iron Dragons cheers loudly on the mat, after him and his team are the first team to advance to the next round.
"Was this dude made in a lab?" Hawk asks.
"He's like a mix between the Winter Soldier and Frankenstein's monster." Demetri adds, in pure awe at this guy's strength.
"Don't call him a monster. You don't know him or what he deals with." Sam adds.
Me and Hawk both give Sam the same eyebrow raise with suspension in our eyes, then we glance at each other shortly, we didn't have to say anything, our eyes already did.
