We're watching Robby fight, clearly very distracted by Tory, he keeps glancing at her, forgetting he's fighting, then the opponent has the advantage. Even though all our team is basically mad at him, I'm on Robby's side. It is his girlfriend; but if he keeps getting distracted I cant keep defending him like this.
Now, I have to go against that short girl from Iron Dragons. Shes fighting very aggressively and I manage to block all of her attacks.
I manage to whack her 2 times but when I go to whack her the third time she dodges it quickly.
She then manages to catch me off guard and proceeds to whack me 3 times. Then, she lands a final whack onto my head and secures a point for her team.
I scoff and clench my jaw. I go back to the sidelines and Sam goes onto the mat, I give her a smile and mouth, "Good luck". She smiles softly.
How the hell did I let her win? I have the height advantage and I'm stronger, I cant believe she caught me off guard.
We're in the hotel lobby with our senseis, Daniel giving us another pep talk explaining how our mornings event was tough with Demetri making a classic sarcastic comment.
"The best thing you can do right now is clear your minds, get some test, you know put this behind you. You got this, I believe in you." Daniel calmly states.
Me and the group all walk off. I go off with Devon and Sam and we're in the elevator.
"Well, I totally sucked out there." Devon says, breaking the silence.
"Please, I went against that short girl in the Iron Dragons and she absolutely slaughtered me." I reply, laughing, even though I don't find it funny at all.
"We all did terribly." Sam replies.
"Yeah, but I landed flat on my ass. God, I can't believe I'm making such an embarrassment of myself." Devon says, with a hint of sorrow in her voice.
"Don't beat yourself up over it, like Daniel said, we're competing against some of the world's best dojos, but we're also one of them." I smile.
"It would help if our senseis got on the same page. Johnny needs to start working with my dad better." Sam adds.
Then, Devon adds how she doesn't think it was all of Sensei Lawrence fault, which Sam doesn't say anything to. Then that girl Zara comes in, I learnt her name through the announcer, and shes on some livestream talking to her fans about the event and makes fun of the fact we didn't win any of our events.
Devon scoffs and looks at us, I let out a hyena laugh.
"Wow." Sam chuckles.
"Who does she think she is? Jeez." I roll my eyes.
"The next event will begin in 90 minutes." I hear echo throughout the hotel lobby.
I decided to just sit down in the lobby and chill on my phone. I see a bunch of messages from Piper.
"Kiara, where are you?"
"Message me back when you see these please"
"You can't just ghost me"
"Fuck you too"
"Kiara, I love you, please answer back"
"Was it casual when you looked me into my eyes and told me you loved me and said you're gonna marry me and kissed my forehead but ghosted me the next day?"
My eyes widen, she just told me to fuck off but she loves me? Is Piper okay? But I don't blame her, I guess I was wrong for ghosting her after that day, but my feelings change quickly. It's not entirely my fault, in my opinion anyway.
I then hear a familiar voice, "What are you so surprised about?" I look up and of course, it's Kwon.
"If you sit down next to me, maybe I'll tell you." I meet his gaze, then smile.
He seems surprised that I'm actually being nice to him, but after I say that he doesn't hesitate to sit down next to me.
"So, will you tell me?" He asks, leaning forward slightly with widened eyes.
"So basically, I used to talk to this girl called Piper-"
"You're gay?" He exclaims, his eyes widen even further and his mouth is open.
"No, I'm not gay Kwon. I'm bisexual." He seems even more confused and I sink my hands in my palms.
"Bisexual is when you like more than one gender, I like boys & girls, not just girls." I exclaim. He nods in understanding, still seeming a bit confused.
"Anyways, a bit off topic we got there, I used to talk to this girl called Piper, it was kinda like a situationship-"
"What's that?" He inquires.
I'm quite annoyed by the fact he keeps interrupting, but english isn't his first language
and it isn't mine either so I shouldn't be mad.
"When you act like you're in a relationship but you're not." I reply.
"What's the point of that?"
"There's no commitment. You get all the fun perks of a relationship but you don't actually have to commit and stay with that person." I smile as I explained that.
"Anyways, ask your questions at the end now. But basically, I ghosted her, which means you just stop responding to their messages and like disappear, which is why it's called ghosting because like disappearing. But, ever since then she's just been texting me like non-stop. She's switching up between angry and missing me, like in one message she sent fuck you and one saying I love you, then she asked if it was normal when I said I love you to her, kissed her forehead and said I was gonna marry her and ghosted her the very next day."
Kwon's mouth is wide open.
"What?"
"You seriously said that to her and then ghosted her? No wonder she's so mad." He teases, he also lets out a small chuckle.
His laugh is so cute, not his cocky laugh, his genuine smile and laugh is really adorable.
"Shut up!" I laugh along with him and playfully punch his arm.
"Maybe you're not so bad after all, Kwon." I lock eyes with him and smile.
"You're just realising, huh?" He replies, his eyes soften compared to how he's glared at me before.
For a while, neither of us spoke, not looking away from each other. I felt my cheeks flush, I wanted to look away, but something about his gaze was so intriguing that made me not break eye contact. I then saw him look down at my lips, my pulse began to quicken and it felt like my stomach was doing backflips.
He began to brush his finger against the side of my face, I could feel his breath on my neck. I prayed he would close the distance, right now, I didn't care about karate, I just wanted him to kiss me.
"Ahem."
Me and Kwon both turn to see Robby, Kwon immediately stops brushing my face and I get up. I smile at Kwon suggestively, then Robby and Kwon have some weird glaring contest then I walk off with Robby.
