chapter 11, elimination phase

I love my best friend but that response was suspicious and it definitely wouldn't be the first time.

We then watch Cobra Kai go against Polarslaget, the Swedish Team. Before Kwon is about to go up, he admires me and doesn't break eye contact until he has to go up onto the mat. I don't break it either because how could I?

Eventually, he gets out but when he's getting off he is glancing at me, I break away the eye contact because I still feel vexed.

Tory and Yoon are fighting, I struggle to keep up for a while, then I see Tory kick a girl in the jaw so aggressively blood spatters everywhere. I subconsciously gasp and feel nauseous.

Then Yoon and Tory hold their arms up with Yoon holding a teeth in the other hand.

"Tory! Tory! Tory! Tory!" The arena chants, I chant along to, why would I not support her?

"Next on the platform, Dublin Thunder versus Miyagi Do."

"All right, let's bring it in. I have something to say." Sensei Lawrence states. The whole group flock together like a herd of sheep.

"It's been a tough day. Probably shouldn't have been such a dick to all of you, but I want you to know that I believe with every bone in my body that you can do this."

"You guys know a lot more about balance than me, so remember everything Sensei Larusso said and use all your Miyagi Do skills to stay up there."

"I'm thinking we should start strong with our captains. Sam. Robby." Sensei glances over to both of them and nods with perseverance.

"Devon, you'll go next. Hawk, Demetri. And then finally, Kiara and Miguel are the anchors." Sensei Lawrence adds.

"Let's do this." He bows down, we all reciprocate Sensei's bow.

We watch Robby and Sam stand up there with Sensei shouting cheers of encouragement towards them. The two Dublin Thunder members run at both of them at the same time.

Both Robby and Sam and the Dublin Thunder members have their fighting stances ready, the Dublin Thunder boy Sam is fighting immediately goes to strike. But Sam quickly defends her punch. The girl Robby's fighting also goes to punch him which Robby somehow managed to dodge.

Sam kicks the boy, making her stumble backwards slightly. Then the boy goes to punch and Sam manages to keep dodging, using her Miyagi Do skills accordingly.

It's going extremely fast for me to keep up, but Robby manages to nearly kick the girl off the mat.

But this motherfucker gets distracted by glancing at Tory. The girl takes advantage of this, obviously, managing to kick him off and get Robby out. I love Robby, but no.

"No surprise, he was staring at Tory, again." I whisper to Miguel.

"He nearly had her." Miguel replies, seeming dissatisfied.

I smile to myself, knowing I just had a conversation with the coolest guy ever. I have a massive platonic crush on this guy.

Devon then quickly sprints to the mat to take Robby's place.

Once again, way too quickly for me to even process. But Devon attempts some sort of kick and now they're throwing back and forth punches and dodges.

Devon manages to kick the girl off the mat and then goes to fight the boy. Then, another boy kicks Sam from behind, taking her off guard. Sam then fights his punches and swiftly gets him to fall off the mat.

"Hell yeah! More of that." Sensei Lawrence points towards the remainder of us.

Sam is now fighting a girl with short blonde hair with brown roots, who is clearly the captain because of her headband.

She goes for an aggressive kick that Sam swiftly moves out of the way of. She then goes for a punch, which Sam also blocks. She manages to kick Sam around her lower waist, which catches her off guard.

She then manages to kick Sam off the mat and she slams to the ground and groans loudly.

Hawk jogs over to the mat, ready to replace her.

Hawk seems to be fighting very balanced, a mix of aggressive and defensive.

He manages to flip that girl over onto the floor, running over to help Devon while the girl's still down. He punches the boy aggressively. Then he attempts to kick his upper leg. He tries to kick again but the boy grabs his leg.

The girl then gets up, running at Devon aggressively, growling for whatever bizarre reason. Devon runs at her aswell, taking herself and the girl off the mat.

Demetri runs over to get onto the mat almost immediately.

"Nice sacrifice Lee! Badass!" Sensei Lawrence roars.

Demetri and Hawk bump into each other from behind, Demetri looks startled to be there. No offence, but sometimes I wonder how he got picked over Hawk at first.

The only reason Hawk is here is because Tory isn't, that's crazy to think about.

Demetri is managing to dodge all of the guy's kicks and punches. He catches the guy offguard by punching his waist, making him fall to the ground. He then goes to kick the guy Hawk is fighting, resulting in the guy and Hawk both facepalming onto the ground.

I bury my hands in my head, classic clumsy Demetri, nearly forgetting it was my turn to go until he fell.

Demetri worriedly goes to the edge of the mat wanting to apologise, but then also gets kicked off by the same guy who winked at me earlier.

"Watch how it's done." Miguel bluntly says to Robby.

Me and Miguel confidently stride over to the mat, I lock eyes with Kwon subtly, but I roll my eyes and look away.

Me and Miguel both get into our fighting stances, I have to fight the guy who winked at me. I hope he remains quiet for the rest of this round.

"Don't worry, I'll go gentle on you princess." He smirks and winks, his Irish accent is extremely strong.

Ew. Princess?

His comment provokes me, making my irritation overtake me. I go for a series of punches that he manages to dodge.

He then goes to attempt to kick my ribcage, I grab his leg and push him onto the floor.

He quickly gets up, attempting to charge at me but I move out the way rapidly and I attempt to kick his back but he briskly turns around and grabs my leg and slams me onto the floor of the mat. He is now hovering over me, lending me a hand to get up.

"We don't need to just fight on the mat, y'know?" He suggests, with yet another wink.

I grab his hand and twist it, resulting in him screaming in pain. His shouts of terror echo throughout the whole arena, which silence the crowd of cheers into whispers of concern.

I then manage to kick him aggressively off the mat, resulting in him slamming the ground.

Coincidentally, at the same time Miguel manages to kick his opponent off the mat aswell.

"Incredible performances from Miguel Diaz and Kiara Chopra. Their spectacular triumphant sends Miyagi-Do to the next round."

Miguel roars for the whole stadium and I just smile awkwardly, not really knowing what to do with this attention.

The whole stadium is clapping for us and the rest of our team gets onto the mat and starts hugging me and Miguel. We then bow down to the arena.

I then climb off the mat, "Nice victory." Kwon appears in front of me.

"Don't talk to me." I bluntly reply, his eyes widen, taken aback by my sudden and unexpected response and he looks like he's about to say something but he's finding the words.

I then walk away with a rapid pace, so he can't catch up to me.
