Back in the Real World...
Deanna and Estrella were looking for exits that they can take, except for the front door.
"Why is looking for an exit so difficult!" Deanna mumbled to more herself than anyone else, including Estrella. It was seriously becoming a problem for not just them, but the future of everyone inside of the dome.
Deanna knew that if she doesn't escape soon, she'll end up like those who have fallen before her, and the others will fall as well. She could not let that happen to her, things must end differently for her and Estrella.
Of course, Craig wasn't stupid enough to make the alternate exit as obvious as a regular door at the back, there has to be some secret passage, even if it is inside of a forest or a body of water, something, anything.
Deanna and Estrella decided to enter the forest as they both knew it would be the first place that Craig would hide the back door if there were to be an emergency. There has to be some evacuation procedure that Craig hadn't told anyone else about. Both of them knew it was a risk, but they felt that it would be worth it at the end because as soon as they both leave, they'll find someone to get everyone else out of this hellhole.
The forest was dark compared to the open under the glass dome, and there was wildlife surrounding them, how did they get there, nobody knows for sure because Craig would never tell his secrets to anyone. However, these would end up being their last moments as human beings because someone might be watching their every move.
As time progressed, and they walked through what seemed like an endless forest, Deanna and Estrella had found something that'll finally save their lives. It seemed like a tunnel that might lead to an exit of some sort, the passage to save themselves, and later everyone else, if there is an everyone else.
"Estrella, we did it, we are home free." Deanna sighed, "No longer we have to suffer and watch the others transform into those weird object creatures!"
"What are we waiting for? Let's get the hell out of here!" Estrella smirked.
They were about to head through the tunnel, but before they could enter, a voice resonating throughout the forest had stopped them in their tracks.
Gretchen shouted, "Hey! You're not supposed to be here!"
"What are you doing here?!" Deanna scoffed, "Aren't you supposed to be with your dad?!"
"Well, yes, but I am doing my job here, to make sure that people like YOU stay out of trouble!" Gretchen snickered before she paged her dad, "Dad! Deanna and Estrella are trying to escape from the dome! They have found the back entrance!"
Suddenly, without any warning, both Blaine and Craig had entered the forest and headed towards the troublemakers' direction.
"Look who's breaking the rules now?!" Craig snickered, "And as such, Deanna should be the one to be punished first!"
"Estrella! Run! Head towards the exit, now!" Deanna cried out as Craig threw the syringe containing transformative serum, like a dart, at Deanna's neck, as she screamed in pure agony.
"Deanna... n-no!" Estrella backed away into the tunnel, not wanting to know what will happen to her. She could already notice Deanna's hands were cracking and popping, a pitch black color overwhelming her hands, spreading from the fingertips as her fingers were slowly, but surely merging together. Estrella then nodded, knowing that they'll meet again, had ran away from the situation and headed towards the exit as fast as she could.
Deanna sighed in relief that Estrella is going to possibly survive, if she makes it out that is.
"Blaine, keep an eye on her! I have that bitch to take care of, I am not taking any chances with anything around here!" Craig demanded as Blaine got off the two-person hoverboard thing. Craig then went through the tunnel, as he had a wide grin on his face.
"You and your father isn't going to get away with this!" Deanna scoffed.
"Oh, we already have, and soon, you and your friend will be objects just like everyone else!" Gretchen snickered.
"You little shits!" Deanna scoffed as her hands bloated into spheres, fingers seeming to sink back into her palms as her arms were also beginning to become thinner and thinner, blackness spreading up her arms.
"Oh, that's too bad, I guess you're not going to be able to see Estrella ever again after this! Not that it matters, you'll be long gone when we get done with you!" Gretchen snickered.
